Good Morning, Possums and Happy Tuesday and Happy Return To Work for a lot of people. Well, we are three days in to 2023. How is it going? So far so good?
I am starting off my week of hospital visits this morning with PLEX (plasma exchange) at 8am. This is the longest I have gone without fresh plasma - almost four weeks. But we are doubling down on the secondary neurological auto-immune disease (the one that mimics MS) and getting it under control before evaluating the MS itself.
PLEX should sufficiently wipe me out for most of the day - especially since I haven't had it in a while. However, it will be nice to check in with my Apheresis Clinic Family and see how their holiday was.
While my Multiple Sclerosis medicines have done / are doing a number on my stomach (it's a slow adjustment / adaptation), they seem to be doing some good. The adjustments in my other medications for neuropathy and muscle spasms have been successful as well.
I remain hopeful that I am going to get out of this chair and back to my walker and eventually my cane. Teaching my legs to walk again is not easy but I have made some good progress and I am determined.
OK - I better finish getting ready to head to the UT Southwestern Spa and Resort. What are your plans today?
