Good Morning, Possums and Happy New Year. 2023 has arrived and it has done so without me in the hospital (like last year).
I can look back on 2022 and honestly tell you the majority of it is a blur. I remember the highlights - my trip to New York in July and, well, that's pretty much it. I think I spent an equal amount of time in a hospital, Dr.'s office, MRI monster, CT scan, waiting room or some other medical office, lab as I did at home or doing anything else.
I am glad I started journaling/posting so that I can look back on my year and see what I did/have done and glad that I started sharing it with anyone who may be dealing with (or know someone who is dealing with) the beast that is Multiple Sclerosis. It is also very therapeutic for me.
I did not make any resolutions. I typically get busy with work, volunteering, softball stuff and my side hustle as a medical patient for the UT Southwestern Neurology Department and any thought or ghost of an idea of a resolution fades away like 2022.
I think (and hope) now that I am slowly getting used to my new treatment and my current medication is under control, I can gradually begin to start picking things up again. And if my legs continue to cooperate and get stronger, walking is NOT out of the question - neither is driving.
My hopes, wishes and prayers for 2023 are very simple. I hope, wish and pray that:
...anyone reading this has a spectacular year full of life, love, happiness, prosperity, joy and peace.
...and that my dad rest and get well and that my mom just rest.
It's 2023, Possums. Let's make it an outstanding year. I'm not a superstitious person but I do have my greens and black-eyed peas and ham ready to cook for supper this evening. Does anyone else do that/have that for supper on New year's Day?
