Happy Friday Eve. Gosh this week has gone by quickly - probably because I have slept through most of it - thank goodness.
Yesterday morning was acute PLEX #2 of 5 (not 3 - the number went up by 2, possibly 3 - depends on if my neurologist is happy with bloodwork and whatnot). Regardless, it was a rough one.
On the plus side of things, we actually did get to use my new high-dollar port and it worked like a high-dollar charm. However, everything else was a bit rough to the point that I was so exhausted when it was over, I informed my boss I needed to take the entire day off and I slept from then until this morning.
Let’s just say there were lots of needles, several missed attempts at veins and my arm looks like it belongs to a crack-head - black, blue, purple and bruised but it doesn’t hurt….it’s just pretty. I must say that I was in the best of care the entire time. Those nurses (God Bless Nurses) took excellent care of me and my neurologist checked in on me repeatedly to the point that I really did feel like a celebrity getting special celebrity treatment. That feeling didn’t suck!
Today I get a break - an entire day away from all things hospital related…and I need it. I’m working a full day, although in hindsight, I probably should have taken this entire week off, but that’s neither here nor there at this point. I have five meetings today which I will gladly attend and then an evening relaxing at home. That sounds perfect to me.
