My Life with Multiple Sclerosis 031722

Good Morning, Possums, from the Celebrity Suite of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek. Today is Thursday, March 17.

No birthdays on my calendar today.

HAPPY ST. PATTY’S DAY. It’s going to be a partly cloudy day today with a high of 75 - and maybe some thunderstorms this evening. YAY!

My body is screaming at me this morning - it is time for PLEX! Walking is near impossible and my neuropathy is off the charts. Only four meetings today and volunteering at the clinic this afternoon / evening. However, I am not sure I will be able to make it and not just because of my MS - and today is my 12th Anniversary of volunteering at the clinic.

Not to get on my soapbox but come on. I cannot get into my office/department at work because the doors will not automatically open. I cannot use the bathroom at work because of the same reason.

I cannot volunteer. While the door there is automatic the entire area in front of the clinic is NOT wheelchair friendly. I could use my walker IF my legs were cooperating but they are not. There is disabled parking there when the owners at the establishment across the parking lot (who can walk very well) do not use it—and to add insult to injury, they back their trunks in. (I know, that last part is just me).

If my friends are at one particular place, I can go there to join them. However, if I need to use the restroom, I have to go across the street to another place because the restrooms in the first place are NOT wheelchair accessible or user-friendly.

I cannot be the only differently-abled individual to frequent any of the establishments. And these are not the only places.

WOW - somebody woke up cranky!

I am officially living in a whole new world - one I never thought I would be living in. Most of the time there are nice, considerate people around that will happily assist with doors and ramps. But when there is no one around to help, it’s like you are nothing more than a second thought.

It is so frustrating. I don't know how people have done it for so long. But I digress…

The 2022 MS Walk is a week from Saturday. If you would like to support me (cranky as I am today) and help find a cure for multiple sclerosis, click the link below.

OK - time to get this day started. What do you have planned today?

Anyhoozle, I hope you all have a wonderful day and whatever you do today and every day, do it with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one! And as always:

...wear a mask when appropriate (CDC says they may not be necessary anymore - stay tuned)
...be kind and compassionate to one another
...dance/sing/laugh it out. It might not help but it sure as hell couldn't hurt.

Peace, Love and Blessings to you all. -AJ
