My Life with Multiple Sclerosis 031622

Good Morning, Possums, from the Celebrity Suite of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek. Today is Wednesday, March 16.

It’s going to be sunny and 78 degrees today. AND…it’s Hump Day. We made it half way through the week.

I finished my planning, purchasing and securing all of the big-ticket items for my annual pilgrimage to NYC and the theater I love so much. The flight, the hotel and four shows:

-Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

-Company (Patti Lupone)

-Funny Girl

-The Music Man (Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster)

Now all I need is the filler - dinners, shopping, Sunday brunch etc…

The one thing I cannot confirm is my trip to the Champagne Room at the Plaza Hotel for an ice-cold, overpriced dirty martini. Because of COVID, the Plaza only allows hotel guests inside. But I am hopeful that will change by the time we go. I’m sure I can find another fancy-schmacy place, but the Champagne Room at the Plaza is wonderful.

I could go tomorrow, but there are things here I need to do. Work is as busy as ever - there’s lots of fundraising and volunteering to do as well - and mom and dad are coming-out in April / May. This gives me something else to look forward to and takes my mind off waiting for the phone to ring asking me if I want to be part of the stem cell study. Waiting is indeed the hardest part.

We need a cure badly and quickly. My legs are like two steel beams - hard to move and unbendable. I would give up NYC to be in remission (and that’s saying a lot).

OK - time to get this day started. I have lots and lots and lots of meetings.

Anyhoozle, I hope you all have a wonderful day and whatever you do today and every day, do it with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one! And as always:

...wear a mask when appropriate (CDC says they may not be necessary anymore - stay tuned)

...be kind and compassionate to one another

...dance/sing/laugh it out. It might not help but it sure as hell couldn't hurt.
