My Life with Multiple Sclerosis 011122

Good Morning, Possums, from the Celebrity Suite of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek. Today is Tuesday, January 11.

Happy Birthday to:

Bob Sullivan
Janet Paterson
Mark Wright

We made it through Monday…..It was a loooong Monday. The good news is, we are inching closer to a 3-day weekend (well, some of us are). Next Monday is MLK day. But for today, it’s going to be a partly cloudy day / mostly cloudy day in Dallas, TX with high of 59.

I woke up in a good mood this morning. I have no idea why - well, yes I do. It’s this medicine I am taking for my neuropathy. It works wonders for my neuropathy, but it also makes me perky. (OK, the medicine is also for depression, but since I am not depressed, it makes me more……perky).

I am grateful for this drug (and my Neurologist) and what it has done to make my life better in my daily battle with MS, but I feel I have been robbed of the joy of being grumpy until around 9am every morning. Don’t get me wrong. Happy is good. But (like everyone) there are certain people I don’t like and quite frankly, I would like to continue to do so. Plus, being perky all day is exhausting. I don’t know how perky-people do it. Oh well - I shall adapt and be happy about it - I don’t have a choice - LOL!

Another day of meetings at work and a Board meeting tonight. I am on the Board of Directors of the Irving Schools Foundation and tonight is Spark Tank. Spark Tank is a competitive grant program that awards funds for innovative, enriching, and out-of-the-ordinary classroom projects and learning experiences for students of all ages across Irving ISD. Since 2013, ISF has funded over 303 projects representing over $1 million and 180,000 students, teachers and staff impacted.

Every month (excluding July), the ISF Spark Tank Committee (which I am on) meets to evaluate Spark Tank grant proposals from Irving ISD teachers, counselors, librarians, coaches, administrators, or other Irving ISD employees. Each application includes:

-an informal presentation
-a five-minute period of follow-up questions from the committee. -The applicant will then be asked to step out of the room while the committee deliberates.
-Funding may be awarded in part or in full, based on both the availability of funding as well as the evaluation committee’s discretion.

Spark Tank is wonderful and being on this Board of Directors is fantastic!

What’s on your schedule today?

Anyhoozle, I hope you all have a wonderful day and whatever you do today and every day, do it with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one! And as always:

...wear a mask
...be kind and compassionate to one another
...dance/sing/laugh it out. It might not help but it sure as hell couldn't hurt.

Peace, Love and Blessings to you all. -AJ
