Good Morning from the Celebrity Suite of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek. Today is Sunday, November 7.
No Birthdays on my calendar today.
Holiday Countdown:
18 Days until Thanksgiving
21 Days until Hanukkah
44 Days Until Winter Solstice
48 Days until Christmas
49 Days until Kwanzaa
55 Days until 2022
On November 7th, celebrate the most popular anti-aging skincare ingredient with National Retinol Day! (WTF)?
Retinol is a derivative of Vitamin A, and works by boosting skin’s renewal process and helps to tighten the skin up and diminish signs of aging.
No offense - but I have bigger fish to fry right now than to worry about my skin aging. I like my wrinkles and crows feet and I have earned each and every one of them.
Regardless, Happy Retinol Day!
Daylight Savings Time has ended. Did you remember to set your clocks back? Although, most time keeping devices are set back for you - tv - computer - DVR - watches. The only ones you have to worry about are maybe the stove and the clock in your car.
At first, I didn’t really care to add any more time to this year. The thought of turning back time and adding another hour (whether I am asleep or not) - or even a minute into 2021 had left me completely nonplussed. After three hospital stays, 15 weeks of physical therapy, 30 plasma exchanges (and counting) and the stress of a new work environment, I was ready to be done with 2021.
But that is not everything 2021 has been about. While I am still learning to live my life differently - do things differently - and that has been a struggle at times, I have seen kindness in people - people I know and complete strangers - near and far - and that gives me hope. I am happy to take an extra hour of kindness and hope and be thankful.
It’s going to be another gorgeous day in Big D - just like yesterday. I got out and spent some quality time with my friends and I may have enjoyed a little ranch water as well so..…bonus!
Not too much on my calendar today other than church and a few loads of laundry. I think it is going to be a quiet and relaxing Sunday. I am OK with that. I may start doing a little Christmas shopping online. Who knows?
What is on your schedule today?
Come join us for church this morning at 11am at Oak Lawn United Methodist Church (or online on Facebook Live). All are welcome at OLUMC.
Anyhoozle, I hope you all have a wonderful day and whatever you do today and every day, do it with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one! And as always:
...wear a mask
...be kind and compassionate to one another
...dance/sing/laugh it out. It might not help but it sure as hell couldn't hurt.
Peace, Love and Blessings to you all. -AJ
