Good Morning, Dearest Gentle Possums - Happy Friday, TGIF and Happy Weekend. The week is coming to an end and so is July. We are already half way through the month.
It has been affairs busy week - lots of things to accomplish and check off my list. My friend, Soliz, was nice enough to tote me around yesterday to run a few errands.
The cleaner is here right now and my casa will soon sparkle and shine. It needs it after the antics brought on by the second shingles shot. What a nightmare!
I believe I may make it out to Happy Hour this afternoon. It’s a good day!

I have contacted a few studios and I am in the process of scheduling a few tours. This is in preparation for the live shows we have tentatively scheduled for next season.

Good Afternoon, Dearest Gentle Possums - Happy Wednesday and Happy Hump Day. We have made it half way through the week.

I’m back to baseline. I still have this incredibly head-splitting and mind-numbing high pitched tone that is driving me insane. It never goes away. It’s caused by nerve damage in my ear from MS. My neurologist is sending me to the Otolarnygoly clinic to see what can be done. I may get a hearing aid in that ear….or maybe a bionic ear. I hoping for the latter.

Supplemental SS has been denied. I do not qualify.

No birthdays on my calendar today.
Good Morning, Dearest Gentle Possums and happy Monday. I hope you all had a fantastic weekend and you are tackling this week like nobody’s business. I am without ask assistant this week. Mine is on vacation. I could have gotten a replacement, but there is no replacing Viola. We have a routine, she knows when I need help and………..she loves the REAL HOUSEWIVES of DUBAI so we watch that together on Thurdays.
Viola has my meals prepared and ready. I just need to heat them up and I have no medical appointments this week so I think I am in good shape. For three days last week, I wanted to die. But this week, I think I am pretty good.
On another note, Summer television sucks! Even though there are hundreds of channels and dozens of streaming platforms, it still sucks -especially daytime tv). Even the commercials for medicare, car rental and prescription drugs (a few of which I am on)drive me crazy. Especially the commercial(s) for Jardiance.
First, there was just the one commercial with the latino woman in the tragic yellow dress that made her look twice as big as she was. The have since made commercials using the same song but with an African-American male and a caucasian female (aka - a black man and a white woman). And I have to say… they are just as awful as the fist one.
Even the news….it’s either predictable or mind-numbing. Granted, I do not spend all day every day in front of the television, on the occasional day that MS Fatigue (it’s a thing -look it up) has set in and decided I am not doing anything, finding something to watch can be a chore.
But I digress…
Put on some decent programming.

GENERAL UPDATE
It has been quite the week, here, at the Celebrity Suites of the Wyndemere at Turtle Creek Condominiums.
MS Warriors pay close attention!!
First, thank you all for the birthday wishes you sent yesterday. Your kind words healed my soul. Thank you so much. I felt all the love.
Second, remember that second shingles shot I got on Tuesday at 10:15am? Remember I was worried about it? I was worried for a very good reason. By 5:00pm Tuesday evening, both of my legs were getting stiff and difficult to move. By 10pm, I was shivering and shaking like it was 32 degrees below zero.
I woke up at 1am (Wednesday morning) and I couldn’t roll over at all. I was stuck in my bed. I finally did manage to get into my chair and move to my recliner where I stayed until Thursday Morning at 10am. My legs were done for. Neither one of them would do what my brain was telling them to do. Also, my stomach was churning, I was dehydrated and my vision was a complete blur- similar to looking through a piece of wax paper.
I had my phone so I was able to call and get home heath to send someone to stay with me on Wednesday night.
Thursday around 3pm, my stomach wasn’t doing cartwheels so much as an olympic gymnasts routine on repeat. However, I could finally start to move my feet and ankles - but but just barely and later that afternoon both legs were receiving moving instructions, but they still had other plans. Two of my friends brought dinner over and one stayed the night.
Friday, my birthday, I woke up and could see a great deal better and my legs were not being complete assholes. Another friend came over to work and keep me company and by 1pm I was in the shower (possums, I was ripe) and getting dressed. Once I got showered and dressed, I felt about 80% back to baseline. So I did what anyone in my shoes would do. I went out and had a few birthday cocktails withy friends and it was great.
Tuesday through Thursday, I wanted to die. It was painful and and very isolating. But once things started to improve, it got smooch better. I still do not have an appetite, but it will return.
Your birthday well-wishes just made me feel so good. So again, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Special thanks to Stephen Kent Soliz Shannon Brown Timothy Thomas Roger R Carbajal

Good Morning, Dearest Gentle Possums and Happy Tuesday. I’m up early today -couldn’t sleep.
GENERAL UPDATE
I have a busy morning today: cleaning lady is coming at 9am, shingles shot at 10am, haircut at 11am, leg therapy at 12:30pm, semaglutide shot at 1:30pm - I think that’s it.
After all that, I am going to sit still and wait and see what (if anything) my second shingles shot does to me. With the second COVID shot, I could tell that evening that something was off. When I woke up in middle of the night (and I couldn’t walk), I knew I was in for a few days of painful inconvenience.
So, while I am planning for it, I am also hopeful that I will just have a very sore arm for a few days.

Good Morning, Dearest Gentle Possums and Happy Monday. Back to the weekly grind. However, it is a great deal cooler today than it has been in a while AND we are getting a little rain.
GENERAL UPDATE
Starting off the week with rain isn’t the worst. I kinda like it actually. It makes me not want to do a whole lot today, but that cannot be the case. I need to continue to attempt to understand Medicare and my options (that alone could take MONTHS).
If you know anyone who has successfully navigated Medicare and would love to assist me, let me know.
I have several (medical) appointments to reschedule and I need to schedule my second shingle shot for tomorrow. YAY! My neurologist was adamant about me getting it ASAP so tomorrow it is.

MEDICALLY SPEAKING
I am doing well. I am still making progress here and there. That progress may be halted tomorrow when I get my second shingles vaccination. I remember when the COVID vaccinations were made available. The first did not bother me, but the second one kicked my ass. I could not walk my and several other of my MS symptoms resurfaced. That has me worried about my second shingles shot.
So, I am getting it tomorrow morning ask 10am and getting it over with. I may be down for a few days but I am preparing for that. Stay tuned…

Good Morning, Dearest Gentle Possums and Happy Sunday. I hope you have had an enjoyable weekend / long weekend / 4th of July weekend. Sadly, it’s time to gear up and prepare for the week ahead. However, we should be appreciative and/or thankful for the time away from work (or whatever).
GENERAL UPDATE
Again, I hope your weekend was fantastic. Other than laundry, starting the dishwasher and folding laundry, I didn’t do a great deal. Dallas has been bit of a ghost town. Now, I did make my grocery list, so that occupied 15 minutes, but other than that….squat!
However, the world of entertainment is about to offer two outstanding series - it’s a veritable cornucopia of cable delights. #1) Tonight- it finally arrives - it’s SHARK WEEK on the Discovery Channel. Yes, Shark Week is back and hosted by John Cena - one of two men who’ve successfully made the transition from wrestling to acting (the other being the Rock).
While I do enjoy Shark Week (regardless of whom it is hosted by), after the second or third night, I have had enough. Sorry, Discovery Channel.
#2) This one, too, makes its triumphant return for the month July. You guessed it. On (one of) the Hallmark’s Channels - Christmas in July began a week (or so) ago. They have even slid in a few NEW holiday made-for-television movies to melt your heart and stir your appetite for candy, cocoa, snowmen and Santa. For me, it’s hard get swept up in the Holiday season when it’s over 100 degrees outside. But I can appreciate where they are coming from. Besides, it’s only 171 days in Christmas.

I am doing well. I still need to hydrate a great deal more than I do. I have cut back on coffee considerably because, sadly, it dehydrates you.
Also, I need to email my neurologist this afternoon. I have been struggling with a constant high-pitched ringing in my left ear - nerve damage related to my MS. It is not there all the time, but when it is, it is mind-numbing. It was not piercing my skull when I met with her a week ago, so I completely forgot about it. But this weekend, it has been everso present and quite annoying.

Still waiting on a decision on the Supplemental SS. This one is still pending, but according to them, I should have an answer by this Wednesday.

Good Morning, Dearest Gentle Possums. Happy Thursday and Happy Fourth of July. I hope you have had a good week and you are enjoying the day off with family, friends and/or neighbors at a BBQ, cookout, parade or anything, really, celebrating our independence and kicking back and relaxing with the people in your live and watching some magnificent fireworks.
GENERAL UPDATE
No plans for me this weekend- well, none so far. I have PLEX tomorrow at noon. I start the ‘every three week’s’ plan. Not sure how long I have to do that before converting to ‘once a month’. I hope I can get in and out as quickly as I did last time - under two hours. This will be Plasma Exchange #111. That’s a lot of plasma and a lot of time in a hospital. However, it is outpatient so I am extremely grateful for that.

That’s a wrap on Season One. We had a very good time and enjoyed sharing part of our lives with each other and our faithful listeners. Planning for Season TWO is under way and will return the week of September 9.
