Good Morning, Possums and Happy Sunday. Happy Easter. He is risen.
It is Easter Sunday. The Easter Bunny has come and gone, but more importantly, Christ has risen. After Jesus was crucified on the Friday his body was taken down from the cross and buried in a cave tomb. The tomb was guarded by Roman soldiers and an enormous stone was put over the entrance. On Sunday Mary Magdalene and some of Jesus's disciples visited the tomb. The stone was rolled away and Jesus’ body was gone.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the foundation of the Christian faith. It’s kind of the day we, as Christians, hang our hat on. Without the resurrection, the belief in God's saving grace and mercy through Jesus is void. When Jesus rose from the dead, he proved his divinity as the Son of God and his works of atonement, redemption, reconciliation, and salvation. The resurrection was a real, physical raising of Jesus’ body from the dead.
While I may still have my own dysfunctional relationship with God, I do have a relationship with him. I believe. I have faith. He is risen.

Good Morning, Possums and Happy Friday Eve. It’s almost the weekend. Some of you may be off tomorrow for Good Friday. I cannot believe it is Easter weekend. It’s early this year.
It’s another busy day today. I’ve got to go in for some blood work this morning. I’ve been on this anti-organ transplant rejection medication (no, I have not had any type of organ transplant) for a year now so they have to test stuff (no idea what). Who would think that this is what they would use to treat (my version) of multiple sclerosis? I guess since I have broken through four traditional protocols, you broaden the treatment field. It seems to be holding it at bay, but the bloodwork and my upcoming MRI will be very informative.
After my blood work, a mani-pedi may be in order - followed by picking up some prescriptions and a trip to the post office to mail in my property taxes. WTH - they are though the roof. They are more than double what I paid at my other condo, but I digress…
I may treat myself to Happy Hour cocktail with the gang this evening. My blood gets washed and cleaned tomorrow (plasma exchange) so why not get it dirty this evening?

Good Morning, Possums and Happy Monday. It’s time to kick off a new work week.
Fighting through my blurred vision this morning, I am happy to say that I have COMPLETED and FILED MY TAXES. And, I am getting a nice refund. That may be in part (and thanks to) my blurred vision, but I’m just going to roll the dice and see what the IRS says - LOL.
Looking at my week ahead, it’s not too bad. We are recording episode 9 of our podcast tonight. I have physical therapy and occupational therapy in the morning and few errands to run after that. I have a Board committee meeting Wednesday, a birthday on Thursday, PLEX on Friday and an Easter brunch on Sunday. I am OK with that schedule.
I am still getting stronger and still doing more for myself. I have officially cut down my need for an assistant to two days. I think two days a week of four hours will suffice.

Good Morning, Possums and Happy Sunday. It’s time to prep for and start a new week.
I know I have not posted in a few days. My Multiple Sclerosis BS has kept me from my computer. My vision has been incredibly blurry so typing and reading has been frustrating and impossible. Luckily, a friend (Timothy Thomas) had a big, flat screen monitor he wan’t using so he brought it over got me all set up. Now, I can see everything. Also, people in the building across the street can see it too because the font/graphics are so large. Thanks, Tim.
Now, I have no excuse NOT to do my taxes.
I may actually get to my taxes today (I say that now). I will probably meet my friends later for a Sunday afternoon adult beverage. I have been getting out of my house more frequently lately and I have gotten used to it.
I have gotten stronger over the last few weeks and I have been doing more for myself (still with a few struggles, but doing doing it myself). Having said that, I have cut down the days may assistant comes to work to two mornings - Tuesday and Thursday. Let’s see how this plays out…
This week is filled physical therapy, occupational therapy, plasma exchange and recording the 9th episode of our podcast. Making this podcast has been so much fun. Even if no one out in podcast land likes it or listens to it, we are having a blast. So thank you to everyone for all of your kind words and comments regarding our podcast. My day is not too busy. I’m heading to The Boardroom in a bit. Time to shave, groom and get Purdy! I may even attempt to do my taxes today - LOL. Later, I have a Board to Directors meeting.

Good Morning, Possums. Happy Thursday and Happy Friday Eve. It’s almost the weekend.
Well, I hope you didn’t hold your breath. My taxes did not get done. Maybe this weekend. Not today. I am leaving for PLEX in 90 minutes.
Today, has been a frustrating day….well, not the entire morning, just putting on my shoes. I tried putting them on in my wheelchair. That did not work. Then I tried putting them on in my recliner. That, too, was a no-go. Lastly, I had to roll into my bedroom, transfer to my bed and lift up one leg at a time to get my shoes on. The third time worked - I have on foot-wear.
That was exhausting and frustrating but it is also something I experience on a daily basis. Tomorrow, it may be putting on my pants or making my morning coffee. I can never do everything the same way every day - and for someone who likes a schedule and does not care for daily disruptions to his processes, it pisses me off to no end. MS sucks, but I fight every day to not let it win.

Good Morning, Possums. Happy Wednesday and Happy Hump Day. We have made it half way through the week.
Well, mom and Dad returned home yesterday. It was great to have them here but I know they needed to get back home to their commitments and their lives in SC. I’ll see them this summer when I go for a visit.
I don’t have a lot going on today. I suppose I should get started on my taxes but my motivation level is a little low today. That’s not a good reason - it’s a sad excuse. I will do my taxes. UUGGHH!!
Sitting here typing, in my mind, I am already procrastinating and thinking of so many other things I could do instead of doing my taxes. Why do I have such an aversion to my taxes? I never owe anything. I always get money back.
OK - I am exhausting myself thinking about this and probably you as well. Taxes will get done today. I’ll let you know if it happens in my post tomorrow. Hint: Don’t hold your breath - LOL!

Good Morning, Possums and Happy Monday. Time to kick off another work week - or maybe you’re on Spring Break this week. Either way let’s get things going.
Mom, Dad and I had a great lunch and visit yesterday with Pam Brown, Timothy Thomas and Shannon Brown. Today, we have a few errands to run, but other than that, we will just spend the rest of the day together coordinating calendars, trips, vacations, doctors appointments and fun stuff like that.
I cannot believe they have already been here for a week. Time goes by so quickly when we are together. But they need to get back to their lives and routine in SC and I have to start back with my myriad of appointments this week.

Good Afternoon, Possums and Happy Saturday, and HAPPY WEEKEND.
I can’t believe it’s the weekend and how time has flown by since mom and dad arrived. Their visit is half way over. Times always goes by so quickly when they are here or when go home. I don’t much care for that except love every minute of it.
Last night, my best gal pal (Sallie Ann Plaxico) and I went to see Alan Cummings in his one man show, “Alan Cummings is Not Acting His Age”. It was an ntimate and entertaining show. He told amusing and funny stories of his encounters and friendships with many celebrities (Florence Henderson, Sean Connery, Emma Stone, Jessica Lange and Kristin Chenoweth) on the set of TV and films as well as just hanging out with them.
The songs he sang were good, although he is not a very strong singer. He can carry a tune, but he’s no Michael Cerveris or Howard McGillin (great broadway singers). Still, it was enjoyable, entertaining and I’d see it again.
It is supposed to head to Broadway, but I don’t think it’s ready for the main stem. Although, with his fan base, it could happen. We shall see.
Before the show started, this guy came up to us and said, “OMG - Dallas’ newest podcasters” - We were both shocked and caught off-guard. He said he liked our little dog and pony show, chatted for a minute and went on to his seat. That was kinda exciting!
Not sure what the day holds for us but I know there are things we need to take care of.

It’s Friday and the sun’s almost out. After the last two days, I am ready for a little sunshine.
Having a great visit with mom and dad - we totally ignored the sate-of-the-union address last night (which we all all agreed upon) and watched a little trash TV. Dad cooked breakfast this morning and it was heaven.
Mom and dad will be on their own this evening. I am headed to see Alan Cumming (Tony winner for Cabaret, TV: Schmigadoon, The Good Wife, The Good Fight) with my best gal pal Sallie Ann Plaxico. I had the tickets before their trip was planned.

Good Afternoon, Possums and Happy Friday Eve.
It’s a dreary, rainy day in Big D today. My car is being worked on so we (me and my parents) have been home bound. I went for a walk in in the hall - about 200 feet - with my walker - and it was incredibly difficult. But I have to do my part and not rely simply on physical therapy. But just imagine both of your legs made of solid lead - and they do not bend at the knee when you walk. That’s what it is like.
I finally finished editing episode 6 of our pod cast and it is now ready for consumer consumption. Up next week, episode 7, is our Post-Oscars edit led by Eva. We will discuss winners, snubs, the fashion and Jimmy Kimmel, the host - so please tune in.

It’s a dreary, rainy day in Big D today. My car is being worked on so we (me and my parents) have been home bound. I went for a walk in in the hall - about 200 feet - with my walker - and it was incredibly difficult. But I have to do my part and not rely simply on physical therapy. But just imagine both of your legs made of solid lead - and they do not bend at the knee when you walk. That’s what it is like.
I finally finished editing episode 6 of our pod cast and it is now ready for consumer consumption. Up next week, episode 7, is our Post-Oscars edit led by Eva. We will discuss winners, snubs, the fashion and Jimmy Kimmel, the host - so please tune in.

Good Morning, Possums and Happy Tuesday.
It’s another beautiful day in Big D and a busy morning here in Turtle Creek.
The housekeeper is here cleaning. Groceries have been ordered and will be delivered this afternoon. I have a Board Committee meeting later this afternoon and mom and dad are this evening.
We recorded episode 6 of our podcast last night. Our special guest co-host was Becca Wheeler who discussed volunteering and her mission work. The next week, episode 7, is our Post-Oscars special - the winners, the snubs and the fashion. Episode 8 will feature a co-host who is a hard-working actor in Hollywood discussing the good/bad of the entertainment industry as well as shows/movies in which he has been cast and any brushes with A-List actors. In episode 9, we will discuss Brain Based Differences and what we lose by Labeling.
I’m going to finish editing episode six this afternoon and publish it for your consumption.

It’s another beautiful day in Big D. Both Titans teams have back-to-back games at 8am and 9am. Obviously, I’m there in spirit. GO TITANS!
I am looking forward to a medical/medical appointment-free week. They rarely present themselves but when they do, I try to take full advantage of the time I get back. This one comes at a great time because mom and dad arrive Tuesday evening.
We are recording episode 6 of our podcast tomorrow evening. This week our special guest co-host is Becca Wheeler who will be discussing volunteering and discussing her mission tris and mission work. The next week, episode 7, is our Post-Oscars special. Episode 8 will feature a co-host who is a hard-working actor in Hollywood discussing the good/bad of the entertainment industry as well as shows/movies in which he has been cast and any brushes with A-List actors. Episode 10 is “almost confirmed” so stay tuned for an announcement.
So a fun week ahead - podcast tomorrow night, mom and dad arrive Tuesday, house cleaner comes on Tuesday (yes, that is exciting) and on Friday night, I am going (withy best gal pal, Sallie Ann Plaxico) to see Alan Cumming (Tony Winner for Cabaret, TV - The Good Wife, The Good Fight, Traitors) perform his one-man show before it reaches Broadway in a few months. Mom and Dad will be on their own Friday night - I had the tickets before they made their plans.
