Good Morning, Possums. From the Celebrity Suites of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas, Happy Wednesday and Happy Hump Day! We have made it half way through the week!
It’s been a busy, productive week so far but I have a lot more to do before going back to work next week. Physical therapy went well yesterday but it was hard. Learning to walk AGAIN is not something I imagined I would be doing at my age, but here we are.
I spoke to my neurologist yesterday and she is increasing my treatment medication. Well actually, she is doubling the amount I take from 500mg a day to 1000mg a day. We discussed all of the side affects and I told her three of them were of concern to me:
1 - the risk of getting skin cancer is significantly higher so I need to stay covered up in the sun. I guess I will be pasty year-round and I need to start going to a dermatologist for an annual Mole Patrol.
2 - I cannot donate sperm. I am OK with this, but she wanted me to be aware of this. I assured her that the world does not need any more of me roaming around. It couldn’t handle it. She agreed.
3 - I cannot breast feed. She didn’t seem to think I needed to worry about this one too much! Well, there goes my post-retirement career as a wet nurse.
Actually my biggest concern is what the increased dosage is going to do to my stomach. My system will adapt to it but it may take a little time.
Multiple Sclerosis sucks!
OK - I need to get crack’in and start my day……with coffee - lots and lots and lots of coffee.
