My Life with Multiple Sclerosis100422

Hello, Possuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuums!

Coming to you from the Celebrity Suites of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas. Today is Tuesday, October 4. It’s going to be a sunny Fall day in Dallas today with a high of 84.

Happy Birthday to:

Barry Cubbedge
Charlotte Judge
Tara Piantanida-Kelly

Good Morning, Possums, and Happy Tuesday I hope you all are well. I stepped away from ‘social media’ for a few days to regroup, recharge and prepare for this week.

Yesterday morning, I had blood work done to determined if I needed FFP (fresh frozen plasma) or the synthetic stuff. My levels were good so I got the synthetic stuff. And my lymphocyte levels were checked to see if they were high enough to have chemotherapy on Thursday and they are.

After all of that, I had PLEX (plasma exchange) for this first time in four weeks. That pretty much wiped me out. Going forward, PLEX will be every two weeks instead of every week.

After PLEX I had an appointment with my neurologist. I had a great check up with her. She said I got Covid at the worst possible time; when my immunity was at its lowest. But luckily, I had a very mild case of it.

The chemotherapy seems to be doing what it is supposed to be doing - putting out the fire internally - getting rid of all of the inflammation (there is quite a bit). The majority of the inflammation is in my spine/spinal cord, but the MRI showed it has decreased. And there are no new lesions, but the active ones on my spinal cord are playing havoc with my legs. I have another MRI in six weeks - YAY (grumble grumble).

So from here own, I continue with the chemotherapy every four weeks, PLEX every two weeks, she got rid of some of the pills I was taking (thank God) and was happy physical therapy starts up twice a week.

Today, tomorrow and Thursday morning I’ll be working as usual and then Chemotherapy Thursday afternoon.

I am exhausted! No matter - I have to power through and get some things done. I will rest tonight.

What are your plans for today?
Anyhoozle, I wish you and everyone around you a SPECTACULAR day. Do everything today with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one! Peace, Love and Blessings to you all. -AJ
