My Life with Multiple Sclerosis 072122

Good Morning, Possums, from the Celebrity Suite of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas. Today is Thursday, July 21. It’s going to be a cloudy day in Dallas today with a high of 100 degrees.
Happy Birthday to:
Rena Walden
Chandler Pryor
Mark Galluci
It’s Friday Eve. I’m not mad about that at all. After all, it is only my second day to work this week. Last Thursday was Day 2 of my NYC Vacation. We got a bit of a slow start. W had all been up since 3am the day before and the play we saw the night before was long - good, but long.
We eventually got up and ready for the day. The hight was 80 degrees - it was GREAT! We had a late breakfast and then set out to explore the city a bit. We ran into a few shops, enjoyed some delicious sangria and that was about it for the afternoon. Since it was Thursday, all Broadway shows started at 7pm.
The show tonight, Company (with music by Stephen Sondheim) starring Broadway Institution, Patti LuPone, was not to be missed. Once again, we arrived at the theater early and were ushered in privately and taken to our seats on the second row, center orchestra. The show, a musical comedy, was fantastic. The staging was outstanding. And to be ten feet away from Patti LuPone was incredible.
I give this show four and a half Possums out of five.

While Patti is an incredible performer (I have seen her in several other shows) and she is a three-time Tony Award Winner and she commands attention and respect which I will gladly pay, she is not my favorite but I still adore her. I just happen to adore Judy Kuhn a good bit more. It’s a matter of taste, nothing more.
After the show, we were looking for as cab to get us back to the hotel. I ordered an Uber not knowing that the Uber I requested was a handicapped accessible Uber - they have these in NYC that you can order. No more loading and unloading me and the wheelchair separately. Easy loading. Easy unloading. What a dream? Thank you Uber. Now just offer this service in Dallas. We have handicapable people here too.
Once we got back to the hotel, we had a night cap with everyone, said our goodnights and called it a day. And that’s the end of Thursday in NYC.
Today, I have a few meetings at work and I am still going through email. Tonight, we have the final show in our Broadway Touring Season tickets - Frozen, the musical. I may have to “Let this one go.” I saw it in NYC a few years ago - not my favorite.
I saw my Neurologist yesterday. I have PLEX on Friday and round number two of chemotherapy next Tuesday. I think she is going to stop the MS medicine (Mavenclad) I was supposed to take in September and October and in January, when I finish Chemotherapy, I will start a broader treatment - more on that later. She wants to put out the fire that is the inflammation in my body before anything else. We have got to get that under control and chemotherapy seems to be doing that.

A special Thank You to Carol Margo Stanners for going with me and taking copious notes AND rolling me down the hall telling all the nurses I am ready to get undressed for my appointment. (It was just like we were back at Texas A&M). There is NEVER a dull moment with Carol.
So….what’s your Thursday like?
Anyhoozle, I wish you and everyone around you a SPECTACULAR day. Do everything today with kindness in your heart. The world is full of nice people. If you can’t find one, be one!
Peace, Love and Blessings to you all. -AJ
