Happy PRIDE to everyone! It’s day #2 back in my casa (and not in the hospital). Day #1 was spent not doing a whole lot - and I am OK with that.
Over the last 20 years I have watched a great deal of E.R., Grey’s Anatomy and six seasons of Private Practice. When culminated, all of those hours of television makes me a qualified (and certified/certifiable) medical expert. So when I self-diagnose myself on the internets these days, (nine times out of ten) I type in my symptoms, press enter and wait for the word CANCER to appear.
With the biopsy last week, that’s just not the case. Deep down, I do not feel like I need to worry about it - so I am not! It’s the same with the blood clot. I cannot sit around and wait for the other shoe(s) to drop. However, if/when it does drop, I hope it’s something in a Kenneth Cole or a slide-on Prada, Gucci or Louis (Allen Treadway - I wear an 8 1/2). Look, if I am getting bad news, I want to be well-dressed for it.
I thought I might get out yesterday, but it just did not happen. Today, there is just no two ways about it. I need to get to the Boardroom for a haircut and beard trim and to Nailed for a mani/pedi. It’s been a hot minute.
Why is it as we get older, hair grows in places it shouldn’t or places you do not want it to? In men (at least in my case), it’s the ears and across my brow so I need to get waxed occasionally. The deforestation of my ears and all signs of a unibrow with some hot wax is just the ticket I need.
Other than that, I have church this morning, prep for the week ahead… and I wouldn’t say ‘no’ to a Sunday afternoon cocktail. After last week, I may not deserve one but I want one.
