Good Morning, Possums, from the Celebrity Suite of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas. Today is Tuesday, June 7. It’s going to be a mostly sunny day in Big D with a high of 94.
No birthdays on my calendar today.
Was there a Monday? I do not remember it. I know I had a few work meetings in the morning and PLEX yesterday afternoon but that’s it. I have no idea where yesterday went.
You make many friends in the hospital; at least I do. Most of them are the nurses and the techs that come in and take your vitals every four hours. Sometimes you get to talking and They tell very funny patient stories. I heard a few that were very funny. I thought I would write them down and share a few of them:
#1 - This nurse was working in Arkansas or Alabama and said one of her patients came out into the waiting room and said, “I’ve got the Big C.” She (the nurse) didn’t want to seem insensitive or anything so she asked, “The Big C?” And the patient replied, “Yes…Surgery (or Cergury).”
#2 - A patient told this nurse (and not to make light of the situation) that she had “UNdiagnosed stage 4 cancer.” Is that even possible?
This next one is not a patient story but a story about a situation at her home. I have no idea how got on this topic:
#3 - This nurse had a rumba. You know, the little round vacuum cleaner that wanders around your home cleaning the floors and the carpets while you are out. (Saturday Night Live did a parody of the RUMBA and the product was called the WOOMBA - see below - it's sure to offend someone so watch at your own risk):

So one day, this particular nurse had a rough day at the hospital and just wanted to come home to her husband, and her kid and her dog and her clean home. Well, she came home to three of those. While everyone was out for the day, the dog (an inside dog) became ill and had diarrhea in the house and the rumba had spread it all over her house - cleaning all day long! BLESS…and GROSS!
I can’t even imagine! There’s more but I will save them for another time. Any nurses on here have any stories to share? I would love to hear them!!!
Still no biopsy results - maybe today or tomorrow (I hope). However, someone did call yesterday and schedule my 1st round of chemotherapy for next Thursday morning so I have a little over a week to mentally prepare for that.
Just a few meetings on my calendar today so I have time to continue to catch up from being out last week.
What’s on your schedule today?
Anyhoozle - I wish you and everyone around you a SPECTACULAR day. Do everything today with kindness in your heart. Be nice people.
Peace, Love and Blessings to you all. -AJ
