My Life with Multiple Sclerosis 051622

Good Morning, Possums, from the Celebrity Suite of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek. Today is Monday, May 16. It’s going to be a mostly sunny day in Dallas today with a high of 90 degrees.

No birthdays on my calendar today.

Time to kick off another work week. What’s the point in having weekends if they always go by so fast. Oh well - we can do it. The countdown to Friday is on….again. LOL

Yesterday, I had church, a trip to the Boardroom to trim my beard and shave my head and a church Board meeting after that. All of that occupied my entire afternoon. It was busy, but it was good and productive. And to my delight, as I was doing a little planning for my trip to NYC in July, I stumbled upon a concert online starring 4-time Tony Nominee, singer of Disney’s Pocahontas and my favorite performer in the universe… Judy Kuhn!

It started at 7pm. I contemplated purchasing a ticket for the online concert…LOL…are you kidding me? Contemplated my *ss! I purchased a ticket immediately. How I did not know about this concert is a COMPLETE mystery. Regardless, my Sunday ended watching and listening to her mesmerizing soprano voice and listening to her tell her theater experiences, most of which I had heard many times, but I listened like it was the first time I ever had ever heard them. She sang some of the standard tunes she is known for but there were several new songs too - all of them beautiful and relaxing.

And for 90 whole minutes I forgot about how stressful work is going to be this week. I did not have MS. I did not use a wheelchair or a walker. I did not have plasma exchanges twice this week. I did not have to take pills four times a day and I was not going to have chemotherapy in June. Everything was perfect, close to perfect or I just didn’t care.

Isn’t that wonderful? To have an incredible experience that transports you somewhere - anywhere - that makes you forget all of your worries and troubles for just a moment…I needed that. It was, for me, the perfect way to end my (seemingly non-existent) weekend. I know it's silly, but it was amazing. I hope everyone has something like that!

But back to reality. I have meetings this morning and PLEX this afternoon - two times this week; today and Friday - and a cocktail/dinner meeting this afternoon/evening which I think I am going to reschedule since I have PLEX and that typically wipes me out.

What’s your day like?

Anyhoozle, make it a WONDERFUL day. Do everything today with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. Be one of them! And as always:

...wear a mask (when appropriate)
...be kind and compassionate to one another
...dance/sing/laugh it out. It might not help but it sure as hell couldn't hurt.

Peace, Love and Blessings to you all. -AJ
