My Life with Multiple Sclerosis 051022

Good Morning, Possums, from the Celebrity Suite of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek. Today is Tuesday, May 10. It’s going to be a cloudy morning and a sunny afternoon in Dallas today with a high of 91.

No birthdays on my calendar today.

It was weird. That’s the only way to describe it. It was weird going to bed last night knowing my parents were no longer a stones throw away. They were safely back home in South Carolina. I got used to having them here. But that’s OK. They will be back soon enough.

I heard from my neurologist yesterday. If we go the chemotherapy route (apparently, there may be another route), I will begin in early June. I would like to know what this other route is and what it entails. Regardless of which route I am taking, I just want to begin whatever it is I am going to be injected with or hooked up to - I bet it's leeches - LOL! I hate waiting and I hate not knowing.

Mom and Dad left here around noon yesterday. I was sad to see them go, but I hopped right back into work - there’s plenty of that and it is covered in a layer of stress, high expectations and an on-time delivery date.

However, the good news is I think I have found the perfect place to have my over-priced, ice cold, delicious dirty martini in New York if the Plaza remains closed to anyone not staying at their establishment. It's a bar in the Carlyle Hotel - Bemelman's. Check it out online.

Also, a couple of friends that used to live here (and now live in Chicago) were in town and they stopped by for a nice visit - Craig Wilbanks and Monty Kehl (see pic below)…and they came with coffee. I never say no to delicious hot coffee or a cold, dirty martini. They are part of the Insane Clown Posse going to New York for my birthday this summer. Craig is a South Carolina boy too! So good to see them.

Craig and Monty have been very supportive and encouraging during my challenging times. They also gave me my first orchid while I was in the hospital the first of four times last year - LOL. I was told under no circumstances could I leave the orchid in the hospital when I was discharged. I had to take it home and send them a picture of it in my home (I have the email) - hence my tiny indoor orchid and succulent garden took root…and to my surprise it’s growing nicely!

Their visit completely took my mind off how difficult it is to walk right now and PLEX is 4 days away! I am going to try my best to stick it out and wait until Friday but I may have to go earlier.

Just two or three meetings today and lots and lots of work to do. Tomorrow is Hump Day - so it’s Hump Day Eve and I am blessed with the best parents, family and friends in the universe.

What’s your day like?

Anyhoozle, make it a SPECTACULAR day. Do everything today with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. Be one of them! And as always:

...wear a mask (when appropriate)
...be kind and compassionate to one another
...dance/sing/laugh it out. It might not help but it sure as hell couldn't hurt.

Peace, Love and Blessings to you all. -AJ
