It’s finally Friday. It’s going to be sunny and 75 degrees in Big D today. It’s the end of the work week! The beginning of the weekend. And….today is PLEX. My body has been yelling at me since Wednesday. I hope the lack of PLEX is why. I’ll know by 4pm for sure.
So I have been thinking - does anyone belong to an online group? I belong to a few for Multiple Sclerosis (because the first place anyone goes for anything these days is the internets, but I digress). And while I have had a few helpful conversations with people, I have found them to be more depressing than helpful. Maybe they serve as more of an outlet for people - searching for answers to questions - anyone with the same problems or symptoms - and I get that. I do.
But lately, it’s been more depressing to read them than join and contribute to conversations. Maybe they serve a purpose that I don’t get. Are the few helpful conversations I have had worth it? I find more support, help and comfort from my family and friends so I think I will stick with them for now and give the online groups a break.
Do online groups work?
Busy weekend ahead - PLEX this afternoon (which will wipe me out until tomorrow), a trip to the Boardroom for a trim and a shave, get my claws and hooves tended too (mani/pedi), church on Sunday and Mom and Dad arrive Sunday evening. I can’t wait for them to get here.
