Today is National Mutt Day. National Mutt Day encourages us to embrace, save and celebrate mixed breed dogs twice a year on July 31st and December 2nd.
Desperately longing for a new home, millions of loving and healthy mixed breed dogs in shelters wait for someone to come and adopt them. National Mutt Day provides an excellent opportunity to find the perfect canine companion.
Despite the name, a mutt learns, obeys and trains much like purebred animals. While their lineage cannot be traced and their features a bit murky, their companionship will be faithful and their love unconditional.
Happy National Mutt Day!
It’s Friday Eve (it’s my Friday). It’s going to be a warm, partly cloudy day with a pitiful chance of rain.
I have meetings scattered throughout the day, volunteering at the clinic this afternoon / evening and an appointment with my neurologist’s nurse this morning.
I think I am starting to feel the affects of the PLEX. I didn’t wake up from the neuropathy (tingling and numbness). Granted, it is still present, just not nearly as intense. And my walking is better. My legs aren’t like two tree trunks - they are now bending and are starting to act like legs. I have three more PLEX sessions before I fly home for Christmas. I am hopeful this will carry me through my entire visit home.
I am going to have to work a tiny bit while I am at home, but not too, terribly much. My boss is out for the rest of the year and most of January. She has been struggling with a health issue as well and handling it like a BOSS. So, I need to step up and help her as much as possible. She has been VERY understanding and good to me throughout this ‘blessing’ of a diagnosis I received almost two years ago.
I told her she’s just trying to steal my thunder and to pick something else - mine was first - but apparently that’s just not an option.
Anyhoozle, I hope you all have a wonderful day and whatever you do today and every day, do it with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one! And as always:
...wear a mask
...be kind and compassionate to one another
...dance/sing/laugh it out. It might not help but it sure as hell couldn't hurt.
Peace, Love and Blessings to you all. -AJ
