There are several ‘national’ days today - none of which I want to celebrate or even bring to anyone’s attention. Instead, I would rather celebrate another special day.

It is not a national day (yet), but I suppose it could be eventually. A friend of mine is having some out patient surgery today and I am having an out patient procedure done today as well so we are celebrating those two things by declaring today:

(National) Boobs and Botox Day!

That’s right - you read correctly - (National) Boobs and Botox Day! This strong, beautiful friend of mine (who shall remain nameless) has succeeded in kicking cancer’s ass. I love her so much and I am so proud of her. She had a mastectomy last December and today, she is having some final work done.

In a few hours, I will be heading to UT Southwestern Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Clinic to get Botox - in my leg, people, in my leg. It will be injected into my left leg; my calf, hamstring and not sure where else. I am only doing one leg this time. If it is successful (and it will be), I will have it injected into both legs every three months. It should help me walk better.

So, yes, it may be a bit of a crude name, but it is also an exciting day - the final step for her in kicking cancer’s ass and the next step for me in taming the MS Monster residing inside me. Also, it’s kind of a funny name as well. So...

...Happy (National) Boobs and Botox Day!

Time to kick off another work week - well, not for me. I will kick off my work week tomorrow. It’s going to be a pleasant, sunny day in Big D today! I will be on valium for the first part of the day so I will miss it. It’s what the doctor gave me to take before my procedure. Hopefully, I can enjoy the second half of the day.

What is on your schedule today?

Anyhoozle, I hope you all have a wonderful day and whatever you do today and every day, do it with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one! And as always:

...wear a mask
...be kind and compassionate to one another
...dance/sing/laugh it out. It might not help but it sure as hell couldn't hurt.

Peace, Love and Blessings to you all. -AJ
