A Day in the Life of Multiple Sclerosis 100221

Good Morning from the Celebrity Suite of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek. Today is Saturday, October 2.
Happy Birthday to:
On October 2nd, National Custodial Worker’s Recognition Day encourages appreciation to the employees who keep our schools and workplaces across the nation running smoothly.
Custodial workers operate behind the scenes. They are often under-appreciated for the hard work they do day after day, too. These are the personnel keeping schools, hospitals, office buildings, museums, churches, and other buildings clean and well maintained.
While delivering outstanding services and running a well-maintained building, they contribute to critical first impressions and the success of any business. They’re the people we call on to give our brick and mortar businesses a polished look. The bank, schools, and office buildings look organized and presentable because custodial workers efficiently keep everything in top condition.
The work is physically demanding. Depending on the position, custodial workers may work varying shifts and possibly in several locations. They may be part of a team or work independently. No matter where they work, this day recognizes their dedication and hard work.
The first person I thought of when I saw it was National Custodial Workers Day was Wille. He was the custodian at McCelvey Elementary School, except we called him, “Willie, please come to the office,” because that’s what we heard every day over the intercom. And Lilly - she was one of the custodians on my floor in the residence hall at Winthrop. She always smiled and said, “Alright” when asked how she was doing.

Happy National Custodial Workers Day and Thank You for all you do!
It looks to be a partly cloudy day in Big D today. Sadly, my hope for rain has been dashed. No matter - I have some work to do today. I have two courses to work on and finish so I can publish and assign them next week and presentation for a meeting on Wednesday. I am actually going into the office on Wednesday - in gloves and a mask and away from people - or as far away from them as I can be.
I haven’t decided how I am going to get their yet. Driving that far makes me incredibly nervous. The furtherest I have driven in an entire year is about 4 blocks and even that scared me to death because I haven’t done it so long and because of my leg issues. I considered ‘Teams’ but I feel like I really have to be there for this. Stay tuned…
What do you have planned today / this weekend?
Anyhoozle, I hope you all have a wonderful day and whatever you do today and every day, do it with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one! And as always:
...wear a mask
...be kind and compassionate to one another
...dance/sing/laugh it out. It might not help but it sure as hell couldn't hurt.
Peace, Love and Blessings to you all. -AJ
