Good Morning from the Celebrity Suite of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek. Today is Monday, October 11.
No birthdays on my calendar today.
Today is National Kick-Butt Day! National Kick Butt Day is observed annually on the second Monday in October. This is a day to give yourself a kick in the seat of the pants.
The day aims to motivate us to work smarter and harder toward our goals. While striving to out-do the competitor, be sure to also take stock of your achievements and how far you’ve come. Have you made the strides you expected at this point in your career? If not, check your goals. Do you have the right ones in place to kick butt?
While the day was designed with businesses in mind, goals apply to everyone - from students to retirees. We all have a purpose. Not all goals have to be lofty. For instance, my goal this morning was to get out of bed and make coffee without falling over! (MS humor).
Happy National Kick Butt Day!
Well, we (the Dallas Titans) had a great fundraiser last night. Ladies of the 80’s was a complete success. The place was PACKED! Fundraising total will be announced later this morning. Right now, I can't get passed drinking this cup of coffee. But I think we raised a good sum of money to purchase food for the food pantry this holiday season!
THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR SUPPORTING US!
The icing on the cake (for me) was getting to see and spend time (the time that I could) with two friends: Carol Margo Stanners - who came in and put herself to work helping us out taking donations and selling t-shirts. I met Carol at Texas A&M University in 1990 and we lived together when I first moved to Dallas. And Erik Eichinger, another friend and roommate from my days at Texas A&M University that I have not seen for 25 years - known him for 30 years. He and his wife, Whitney, came to the show to support us.
Both of these friends check on me (in and of my hospital stays) and they are both amazing people and friends!!!
No big plans today - it’s a holiday for me. May do a little work, but not too much - and have physical therapy this morning at some point.
What are your plans today?
Anyhoozle, I hope you all have a wonderful day and whatever you do today and every day, do it with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one! And as always:
...wear a mask
...be kind and compassionate to one another
...dance/sing/laugh it out. It might not help but it sure as hell couldn't hurt.
Peace, Love and Blessings to you all. -AJ
