Today is National Good Neighbor Day. This day creates an opportunity for neighbors to get to know each other better. This day acknowledges and celebrates the importance of a good neighbor.
It is a blessing to have a good neighbor, but it is even a greater thing to BE a good neighbor. Good neighbors often become friends. They watch out for each other, lend a helping hand, and are there for advice when asked. Neighbors offer that cup of sugar when we are short, collect our mail when we are on vacation, watch our homes, and sometimes watch our children and our pets. Simply put, being a good neighbor makes good neighbors and develops lifelong friendships.
Of course there is always the Gladys Kravitz of the neighborhood. Gladys Gruber Kravitz (from Bewitched) is an extremely nosy neighbor frequently peeking through her curtains at the Stephenses' home. She is always up in everybody’s business. I have known of few of those as well. Regardless, even the Gladys Kravitz’ of the world need a little ‘Good Neighbor’ friendship. So extend a hand and say hello.

My plasma exchange yesterday went well. I think I slept through most of it. I go back tomorrow morning for one more round of new plasma. Today, it’s going to be another partly cloudy day and another day full of meetings and PT later this morning. It feels like it should be later in the week than Tuesday.
