A Day in the Life of Multiple Sclerosis 091321

Good Morning from the Celebrity Suite of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek. Happy Monday, September 13 and Happy National Bald is Beautiful Day.

No birthdays on my calendar today.
National Bald is Beautiful Day on September 13th honors noggins without hair. Being bald brings a beauty all its own.
Not only does baldness come in many forms, but it also comes with some convenience. For men, the cost of hair products and haircuts is reduced. Additionally, reduced grooming time for men who find no more hair must be a relief.
However, hair loss can be stressful for both men and women. Whether the cause is due to illness, medication, family heritage or age, most people hope to keep their hair for as long as possible.
Bald is beautiful in so many ways. By going bald, we shed our vanity regarding our hair. Baldness is a vulnerability. Those who have hair loss of any kind know this feeling. Facing it head-on by taking off what once might have been a mantel of glory takes courage.
Others may choose baldness. The inconvenience of hair care is more than they have time for. They prefer the shiny and smooth pate over the maintenance of a regular haircut. However, once shorn, they do need to maintain the shave and wear sun protection. The newly shorn scalp is sensitive to the sun.
Whatever the reason, most find baldness freeing. Some even shave to support a friend going through an illness. Their solidarity is a visual reminder that they are not alone.
Happy National Bald is Beautiful Day!
Well, that weekend went by quickly, didn’t - and I only watched ‘Come From Away” twice. (Don’t worry - there’s more viewings in my future). But nothing we can do about that so let’s kick off another work week. It’s going to be a partly cloudy day in Big D with a decent chance of some rain here and there. There’s not too much on my work calendar today. We are launching the final wave of our compliance training program so fingers-crossed that program gets launched without incident.
I started Round 2 of my MS treatment and took those meds yesterday. They are currently making life somewhat unpleasant but I shall live. Day 2 treatment is at 1pm. Physical therapy should fun today.
What do you have planned today?
Anyhoozle, I hope you all have a wonderful day and whatever you do today and every day, do it with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one! And as always:
...wear a mask
...be kind and compassionate to one another
...dance/sing/laugh it out. It might not help but it sure as hell couldn't hurt.
Peace, Love and Blessings to you all. -AJ
