Good Morning, Possums and Happy Tuesday. Let’s get this week started. I would imagine that everyone will be heading into the office later this morning. It maybe a little difficult after being off work for a bit, but at least it is a four-day work week.
Did everyone have their black-eyed peas for luck, greens for money and pork for good health? I did - I even cooked it all myself. That’s right, I prepped it and cooked it. AND it was totally edible, but here’s the thing…
Why do people name their children names that the kid cannot possibly live up to? I forget what I was watching while I was cooking supper, but a woman was being interviewed and she was talking about her four children. She began to name them: Sara, Coral, Marcus and…MESSIAH! She named her kid Messiah! How will that kid ever live up to that name?
Plus - I do not think I could ever call him by that name. I would have to call him Mr. Sew-n-Sew (or whatever his last name is). For me, there is only one Messiah and only person I will call Messiah - and to my knowledge, that kid ain’t it.
I remember a few years back , a judge tried (unsuccessfully) to stop a child from getting that name here in the U.S. In many other countries, title names—including Duke, Prince, King, and Queen—are banned. But not in this country. After doing a little research, I found out that Messiah was the 172nd most popular boys name and 4298th most popular girls name. In 2021 there were 2,216 baby boys and only 32 baby girls named Messiah. 1 out of every 840 baby boys and 1 out of every 55,609 baby girls born in 2021 are named Messiah.
I had no idea!
