Good Morning, Possums. Happy Wednesday and Happy Hump Day. We made it half way through the week. I hope you all had a great Halloween.
Now it’s time to focus on Christmas. There’s nothing between now and Christmas, right? LOL. I’m kidding. Of course, there’s lots between now and Christmas. Most important, I’m getting some prime face time with the best singer and performer in the universe, Judy Kuhn, in 29 days. But I digress…
I had a nice time with my assistant yesterday. We/He were/was very productive. He did the brekky/lunch thing and made the bed, but we also found and ordered a bend for my shower since staring isn’t working right now. Thanks to the shingles, I am starting back from zero - learning to stand and then walk again.
Also, the lights for my new wheelchair arrived. He is going to put those on the chair on Friday as well as put my shower bench together.
Asking for and receiving help is never easy (at least for me). I have always been pretty independent. But as my MS has flared here and there over the last 4 years and the shingles have wreaked havoc on any progress I have made, asking for and receiving help has saved my life.
It’s still difficult, but I have learned that help is not a four letter word. OK, it is, but you know what I mean - and not just in my situation. Help is all around and waiting for us all to find it/ask for it. Help is often offered without asking. All I/we/you have to do, is lose the pride and accept it.
