Good Morning, Possums and Happy Saturday. It’s good to be almost back among the living and not wincing in excruciating pain every time I move. I liken the pain to something akin to rolling around naked in broken glass followed by a salt scrub and ending in a shower of rubbing alcohol.
For those of you who are unaware, I have had (still have) the shingles and it has been horrid. I already have multiple sclerosis (isn’t that enough?) which affects and damages my nerves, but add shingles (which also affects the nerves) to the mix and I have been royally screwed.
The shingles have been making themselves home around my waist, left butt cheek and left leg since Labor Day weekend. I am numb from the waist down. Thank God I have incredibly wonderful parents who flew out to help me. I ended up flying home with them to complete my recovery and convalescence.
Upon arriving at home, we were showered with neighbors and our church who have sing up to bring us lunch, and supper - it seems like for a week. How wonderful and caring this was/is. See, In the south when someone passes away, people and your church typically bring food - desserts, casseroles.etc…) to the grieving families home. As food began to show up day after day I couldn’t help but wonder if I had come home to die. But that’s just silly. Also, I was on some good pain medication when I had that thought.
We have the BEST neighborhood, church and friends. They look after us and we all look after each other.
However, I feel like this war between Israel and Hamas is pulling national / global attention away from me as is the search for a House Speaker. Quite frankly, they are all just trying to .steal my thunder (Kidding). Israel / Hamas are not going to work anything out and I think Hamas is pure evil;.
As for the Speaker of the house search and after three failed votes, have they considered getting on LinkedIn.com, carfeerbuilder.com or monster.com to see who might be interested. Just a thought. LOL
Next week, they are shooting as movie in our church for four days. I hear they are going to need extras (non-speaking parishioners / townspeople). I volunteer. You can’t tell me a guy in a wheelchair in the church sanctuary wouldn’t be PERFECT!
I’m ready for my close-up, Mr. DeVille.
Also, the wheelchair is brand-spanking new. And I love it. I have been rescued from the deathtrap I was rolling around in. The touch of color is laughable. I may need to add some neon green LED lights on the wheels - nope, I am going to have to add some neon green LED lights to the wheels because right now, it’s not enough. LOL Not too much. Something tasteful and understated.
In other news:
SSA Case Status - Up from 27% to 35% Complete
Supplemental SSA - Up from 19% to 23% Complete
Kankle News - I have two - REGULAR FEET, for the time being.
Podcast - coming along nicely. I met with my co-hosts to plan some things out. We will meet again in November before Thanksgiving. We have lined up some segments and topics and guests. It is getting exciting.
Anyhoozle, that’s all I have for today. I hope you all have a GREAT day!
Whatever your day holds and whatever your plans may be, I wish you all a SPECTACULAR day. Do everything today with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one!
To all of my fellow MS Warriors, keep fighting the good fight. And to all MS Warrior Supporters, Thank You! Your support means everything.
Peace, Love and Blessings to you all. -AJ
