My Life with Multiple Sclerosis 052523

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo,
Possuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuums!

Coming to you from the Celebrity Suites of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas. Today is Thursday, May 25 It’s going to be a partly sunny day in Dallas with a high of around 84 degrees.

Happy Belated Birthday to:

Darnell Williams
Elizabeth McCraw

Happy Birthday to:

Darin Hustead
Keith Wewe

Good Morning, Possums and Happy Friday Eve. Your three-day weekend is almost here. For me, It's just a weekend - LOL

Travel is going to be messy on the roads around here - especially this evening and tomorrow around noon with people leaving early to begin their holidays - so be careful everyone.

Well, the past two days have been very productive.

-I have been hired to do two little one hour meeting/consulting gigs. It's work, it keeps me busy and pays very, very well for an hour each.

-I got my unemployment all set up so those funds should start rolling in. The women who called me to get it all straightened out - bless her, she was so nice and kept saying how sorry she was that I had MS and she would pray for me. (You can never have enough people praying for you).

and most importantly...

-I am insured once again. Let the healing, procedures, scanning, treatments and pill-popping commence.

The steroids I am taking are really doing a number on my sleep patterns. I slept almost none the night before last, but I slept a solid 8 hours last night. WOO WHOO!

Not much on my calendar today - just look for a job, run (figuratively) to the bank, a Board of Directors meeting this evening and I need to go to Home Depot / Lowe's but I may save that for the weekend.

Anyhoozle, that's about it for me today. What are your plans today / this weekend?

Whatever your day holds and whatever your plans may be, I wish you all a SPECTACULAR day. Do everything today with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one!

To all of my fellow MS Warriors, keep fighting the good fight. And to all MS Warrior Supporters, Thank You! Your support means everything.

Peace, Love and Blessings to you all. -AJ

Coming to you from the Celebrity Suites of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas. Today is Tuesday, May 23. It’s going to be a partly cloudy day in Dallas with a high of around 84 degrees
.
Happy Birthday to:

Chad Ehmke
Daniel Sanchez
Greg Haynes Johnson
Jacey Jeny
Liz Turner Lynch

Good Morning, Possums and Happy Tuesday. It's a sad Tuesday morning. I just put mom and dad in the Alto (like Uber but nicer) to begin their trip back home. I will see them again soon but I already miss them. Take god care of them York-people.

We got a lot accomplished. I just need to followup with COBRA, Texas Workforce Commission and a few other things.

My casa is so quiet! I'm not sure what to do. Yes, I do - get busy with all of this stuff!

I got a call yesterday afternoon for another contract gig. I'm getting a few bites, but two of the three bites are contract jobs. I want/need Full Time. But maybe contract is the way to go for now? I don't know....I'll have to think about it.

I'm still on the steroids - I think for another month. I can't wait to be off of them so I can actually sleep. However, there is a chance I will be on them long-term. Just Have to wait and see.

Anyhoozle, that's enough from me. What are your plans today?

Whatever your day holds and whatever your plans may be, I wish you all a SPECTACULAR day. Do everything today with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one!

My Life with Multiple Sclerosis 052123

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo,
Possuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuums!

Coming to you from the Celebrity Suites of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas. Today is Sunday, May 21. It’s going to be a cloudy day in Dallas with a high of around 75 degrees.

No birthdays on my calendar today.

Good Morning, Possums and Happy Sunday. Where did the weekend go?

Last week flew by. It always does when mom and dad are here or I go home for a visit. But we have gotten a great deal accomplished. Between getting all of my 'life' in order and applying for jobs, I can see how time got away from us.

Today we are off to church and then lunch. We may actually have some down time today before Monday arrives and flies by like the last 7 days.

But I shall enjoy my parents for two more days before they head back to their lives and commitments in SC. I will see them later this summer.

After they leave, I will have a week to attend my interviews and whatnot. Then, three next week - I can't wait (he typed sarcastically), I have a week slap full of

dr's appointments
Botox (in my legs)
physical therapy
a two hour + MRI
occupational therapy
plasma exchange (PLEX)...

...and I guarantee you there will be a cocktail(s) at the end of that week.

Anyhoozle, that's enough from me. What are your plans today?

Whatever your day holds and whatever your plans may be, I wish you all a SPECTACULAR day. Do everything today with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one!

My Life with Multiple Sclerosis 051923

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo,
Possuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuums!

Coming to you from the Celebrity Suites of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas.  Today is Friday, May 19.  It’s going to be a sunny day in Dallas with a high of around 90 degrees.

No birthdays on my calendar today.

Good Evening, Possums and Happy Friday and Happy Weekend.  It’s been nice outside all day today, but the threat of stormy weather is looming.

Its been a busy day thus far.  Pop cooked breakfast and it was delicious, then I went to the Boardroom for a shave and a polish.  Mom and Dad ran a few errands.

This afternoon we have not been as productive but it is Friday and that’s OK.  I got another interview.  It’s for a contract position at Toyota.  I am not really looking for a contract job, but I’m talking to them next week.

OK…..I’m done with Harry and Yoko (Megan).  They weren’t chased in INDY 500 fashion through New York City.  I think they are both mental; well, he his mental and she is simply a manipulative *&^#@!(my opinion).  They weren’t chased.  Thy were going from point A to Point B in New York City.  That’s it!  Geez!

And another thing…I am soooo tired of seeing commercials for Lume deodorant - the new water based ‘thing’ that goes on your under arms, under boob, thigh fold, butt crack and feet (that’s what the commercial says).  Hand to God - a commercial for that stuff is on every 5 minutes.  I don’t care if it does work for up to 72 hours.  I’m sticking with my ozone destroying aerosol can.  Give me those air polluting chemicals that make me cough as I put it on each and every morning — it’s what God intended.

OK - so last night I saw Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird.  And what a wonderful night at the theater, it was.

As the play (not a musical) began, I was a little worried about southern accents.  Sooooooo many actors get them wrong and over compensate.  For example, Brenda Lee Johnson was wrong.  Suzanne Sugarbaker was right (my opinion).  But these were spot on.  There are so many kinds of southern accents, but these actors knew from whence they speak.

As soon as Jon Boy Walton (aka Richard Thomas) walked onto the stage, I completely forgot he was John Boy Walton.  He stills looks like him and all, but he was Atticus Finch if he was anyone.  He embodied everything Atticus was and stood for and played the part to a T.

Scout is by far my favorite character.  She is equal parts.plucky, smart, courageous and a tiny bit smart ass.

For two and a half hours I was at their mercy - embedded in their lives - and hoping the good guy would get saved, even though I knew he would’t.

FYI:  the woman in the cast playing the role of Mrs. DuBose played the role of Scout in the movie.  For Reals.

Treat yourself to Harper Lee’s ‘To Kill a Mockingbird.’  It’s a night at the theater you won’t forget and hate you missed.

OK…that’s enough from me for today.  Gotta look and apply for some jobs!

Anyhoozle, what are your plans today?

Whatever your day holds and whatever your plans may be, I wish you all a SPECTACULAR  day.  Do everything today with kindness in your heart.  The world is full of kind people.  If you can’t find one, be one!

My Life with Multiple Sclerosis 051823

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo,

Possuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuums!

Coming to you from the Celebrity Suites of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas. Today is Thursday, May 18. It’s going to be a sunny day in Dallas with a high of around 82 degrees.

Happy Birthday to:

Ahmed Shaikh

Good Afternoon, Possums and Happy Friday Eve. I do hope your week has gone well. We have been busy here at Casa del ME! Yesterday was spent going through finances and whatnot and applying for COBRA insurance and unemployment schmack - and I also applied fir a few jobs as well.

Today, we unpacked all the boxes that were sent top me from my office - four boxes of “stuff”. Out of those four, I’m keeping maybe one half of a box. The rest would just clutter up my casa.

I have found a few more jobs to apply for and I have scored a phone interview with one of the places I sent my resume to yesterday. I just need to call thumbtack this afternoon and set something up for next week.

I am excited about this evening. I am leaving mom and dad at home and I will be heading to Broadway Dallas and the Broadway touring production of, “To Kill a Mockingbird.” (I have season tickets). And it’s a play not a musical. Not too many plays come to Dallas. And this production has a little star power in Richard Thomas (aka - John-boy Walton).

We were able to move our seats up to the 7th row, center orchestra, so already off to a good start.

Review will be posted tomorrow.

Anyhoozle, what are your plans today?

Whatever your day holds and whatever your plans may be, I wish you all a SPECTACULAR day. Do everything today with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one!

Good Morning, Possums and Happy Hump Day. I do hope your week is going well. Mom and Dad arrived safely yesterday. Thank you Carol Margo Stanners for picking them up and getting them to my casa.

Not sure what we are doing today other than trying to decipher COBRA and get my insurance set up cause I need some pills and some treatments.

Not much happening as far as the job search goes. I am looking and applying but nothing is happening. I never thought I would be intros position this late in life but I guess you just never know.

But I still have faith things will work out like they are supposed to - and maybe disability is the right way to go....decisions, decisions.

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo,
Possuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuums!

Coming to you from the Celebrity Suites of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas. Today is Thursday, May 11. It’s going to be a cloudy day in Dallas with a high of around 83 degrees.

Happy Birthday to:

Jeff Thoroughman
Lance Timms
Erik Eichinger
Shannon Brown

Good Morning, Possums and Happy Friday Eve. It’s cloudy outside this morning and it looks like it might be a rainy weekend.

No matter the clouds, it’s a great day to have a birthday. Two very important people in my life share this day.

First, Erik Eichinger, whom I met when I was at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX 33 years ago. Erik and his wife and son live in North Dallas. We lost touch for a while, but thanks to the Facebook we are back in touch. He has been a strong supporter of the Dallas Titans and he and his wife have even come to our fall fund raisers. Two years ago when I was in the hospital on New Years Eve, Erik drove down and surprised me with a visit before he left to go out of town. He is a good man and a great friend. I wish him the happiest of birthdays.

Second is one of my Besty’s - Shannon Brown. Shannon is a great guy and a true friend. We have lived together, worked together, vacationed together and watched out for each other. I’m not sure I would have fared as well on my MS journey without him. I just know he is really going to like the shirt and shoes I bought for me while shopping for his birthday gift - LOL. He is the Shirley to my Laverne, the Glinda to my Elphaba, the Kathie Lee to my Hoda, the Roxie to my Velma and the Claree to my Ouiser. Happy Birthday, Besty!

OK…that’s enough from me for today. Gotta look and apply for some jobs!

Anyhoozle, what are your plans today?

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo,
Possuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuums!
Coming to you from the Celebrity Suites of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas. Today is Monday, May 8. It’s going to be a cloudy day in Dallas with a high of around 90 degrees.
Happy Belated Birthday to:

Happy Birthday to:

Good Afternoon, Possums and Happy Monday (if there is such a thing). Time too kick off another work week. It’s thundering and raining a bit outside so I don’t feel bad being unemployed as I would if it were beautiful and sunny - LOL - plus I had a very busy weekend.
Saturday, I finished up shopping for my Bestie’s Birthday. If you recall, I started last week by purchasing two shirts…..for myself. I found the cutest little slip-on shoes - and they are plaid and he really likes plaid so I got them… for me. I’m going to wear them to his party on Saturday. I think he will really like them.
Isn’t that nice of me? I’m giving him the gift of joy of seeing how happy I am en those shoes! LOL
I’m kidding. I did find his gift but I can’t say what it is here because he may be reading this. It’s hard to purchase a gift that represents ’27 years of friendship’, but that car wash had a lot of great stuff.
I finished recreating my resume. I took out the sections about running for Pope, wanting my own tv show and being on the Supreme Court (that’s a Diana Ross and the Supremes Fan Club) so I think we have a winner that will assist me in getting an interview. Getting the job is up to me… and the people I know, pay and sleep with. Again, LOL.
There are still donations coming in for my MS Walk. I am up to
$11, 550. If you have not donated but would still like to support me, please send me a message through Facebook Messenger.
Mom and Dad arrive next Tuesday for a visit. They will be here for a week. I have no idea what we are going to do, but I am available for just about anything.
I did not watch the Kentucky Derby. My left foot start swelling and getting puffy so I have been keeping it elevated as much as possible.

I did not watch the Kentucky Derby or the coronation of King Charles, however, I did watch royalty in the form of Queen Charlotte on Netflix. It is a Bridgerton story in that it details the story of Queen Charlotteii from the show, Bridgerton. It got a 93% on Rotten Tomatoes but I would give it a 99%. It is only six episodes, but I loved it and I highly recommend it.

I completely watched the entire thing - every episode. I can’t decide if I like being able to binge an entire season of a show OR if I like the shows being released one episode a week like the Great British Baking Show. Speaking of, where is the next season of the Great British Baking Show? I long to be in the big tent again,
A couple of friends and I have often joked about starting a podcast (now there’s an ideas) but I’m not sure it would work out too well. We would need the equipment, a catchy name for our show that would draw an audience in and there would be some bad language. But if you watch an hour of Yellowstone and an hour of Bridgerton every week, then you can’t say anything when my podcaster’s and I use colorful language.

OK…that’s enough from me for today. Anyhoozle, what are your plans today?
Whatever, your day holds and whatever your plans may be, I wish you all a SPECTACULAR day. Do everything today with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one!

Happy Birthday to:

Chris Matthews

JP Cano

Good Morning, Possums and Happy Friday, Happy Weekend and Happy Cinco de Mayo too!

I am listening to the news in the background.  And the #1 story - King Charles’ coronation coupled with William and Kate and William and Harry and Er’body and Yoko (Megan).  I am already exhausted.  I should probably watch the coronation.  How often is one of your best friends crowned the King of anything?  LOL - I kid!

After my captivating leg crossing yesterday, I have decided it is time to walk with the walker / roller, so I shall attempt a stroll down the hall later this morning. I’m not sure what else is on the agenda for today.  I need a mani/pedi but I may do that tomorrow.

Oh - and the Kentucky Derby is tomorrow!

Anyhoozle, what are your plans today?

My Life with Multiple Sclerosis 050423

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo,

Possuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuums!

Coming to you from the Celebrity Suites of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas.  Today is Thursday, May 4.  It’s going to be a cloudy day in Dallas with a high of around 80 degrees and maybe some rain later this afternoon.

Happy Birthday to:

Jim Bordelon

Good Morning, Possums and Happy Friday Eve.  The weekend is almost here.

These are the top three things I heard/saw on the news this morning:

1.  The city of Dallas is under a ransomware attack.  Honestly, why would someone do that (other than for the money they could get?

2.  Megan (Yoko) Markle has new representation. In Hollywood.  What? She’s acting again?  I’m shocked!  I’m stunned!  I could give a rats ass.

3.  There was a shooting somewhere by somebody…I think I zoned out and got bored.  There has been so many shootings and guns and bullets and this and that - I think I have become desensitized to all of it and I can produce an emotion.  And that’s just sad!

The war in the Ukraine has dropped down to #4.  Is it over?  Did they win?  Or do we not care about that anymore?  (Asking for a friend).

There was nomination of the potential Trump/Biden Battle for the Soul of the Country Sequel.  But I am OK with that.  We will get enough of that nonsense in the coming months.

As for me, I am going to have a little brekky, take a shower and look for a job…and watch the Price is Right at 10am.

Anyhoozle, what are your plans today?

Whatever, your day holds and whatever your plans may be, I wish you all a SPECTACULAR  day.  Do everything today with kindness in your heart.  The world is full of kind people.  If you can’t find one, be one!

My Life with Multiple Sclerosis 050323

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo,
Possuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuums!

Coming to you from the Celebrity Suites of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas. Today is Wednesday, May 3. It’s going to be a partly cloudy day in Dallas with a high of around 81 degrees.

Happy Birthday to:

Kelly Pursley Wilkinssley
Tom Robertson

Good Morning, Possums and Happy Wednesday and Happy Hump Day! We have made it half way through the week. Yesterday was a fairly productive day - job-searching and ending with a board committee meeting (Spark Tank) which is always nice.

Not too much on my schedule today; just look and apply for employment, clean out the fridge and a nap is in there somewhere. I tell you what - these steroids are seriously jacking up my sleep at night and I am on them for another month. Aaaarrrrgggghhh!

I have finished several shows/series and I highly recommend:

The Night Agent - Netflix
Beef - Netflix
Poker Face - Peacock
Shrinking - Apple TV
The Mandalorian - Disney+
Picard - Prime

I am currently in the middle of and also recommend:

Ted Lasso- Apple TV
The Marvelous Ms. Mazel - Prime
YellowJackets - Showtime

Some of these have some rough language, but if you watch ‘Yellowstone’. Then you can handle it. They drop the ‘F Bomb’ on Yellowstone more than I do…….on most days.

There are a few upcoming show that I want to see as well:

On May 4th - ‘Queen Charlotte’ - the spinoff of Bridgerton focusing the on FABULOPUS Queen Charlotte on Netflix. . And on May 12th, “The Great’ season three on Hulu. If you are not familiar with ‘The Great’, it is a HILARIOUS, with some truth sprinkled in here and there, retelling of the story of Catherine the Great!

It can get a little raunchy as well and it is very casual about it. But again, if you can handle ‘Yellowstone, you can handle this one too!

That’s all I have today. Anyhoozle, what are your plans today?

Whatever, your day holds and whatever your plans may be, I wish you all a SPECTACULAR day. Do everything today with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one!

My Life with Multiple Sclerosis 050223

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo,
Possuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuums!

Coming to you from the Celebrity Suites of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas. Today is Tuesday, May 2. It’s going to be a partly cloudy day in Dallas with a high of around 80 degrees.

Happy Birthday to:

Chris Warman

Good Morning, Possums and Happy Tuesday. Tuesday has begun and the month of May is well underway. One-third of this year is in the books.

No big items on my schedule today other than job searching, tweaking my resume a bit here and there and watching the Price is Right at 10am. LOL - I do need to finish some unemployment stuff. The problem with unemployment is that the very minute you wake up in the morning you're on the job. It’s exhausting, I tell you.

On the MS front, things are well. My neuropathy is minimal, leg pain and leg use seems to be OK. No leg cramps or spasms (knock on wood) I can use my walker A LITTLE BIT. I have an MRI scheduled for early July.

My only issue is sleep. Those (insert expletive here) steroids are robbing me of my sleep. But enough about that.

Anyhoozle, what are your plans today?

Whatever, your day holds and whatever your plans may be, I wish you all a SPECTACULAR day. Do everything today with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one!

My Life with Multiple Sclerosis 050123

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo,
Possuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuums!

Coming to you from the Celebrity Suites of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas. Today is Monday, May 1. It’s going to be a beautiful day in Dallas with a high of around 77 degrees.

Happy Belated Birthday to:

Bryan Bk
Jennifer Pickert
Robin Johnston
Andrasta Seatts
Dustin Abercrombie
Dr. Gretchen F. Toler, MD (Dallas, TX)
Joe Ligon
Zack Coapland

Happy Birthday to:

Chip Free

Good Afternoon, Possums and Happy Monday. We have kicked off another work week. Today is my first day of unemployment. I signed my separation / severance agreement yesterday so I am officially on the market. I also applied for unemployment. That was just an odd experience. Not that there’s anything wrong with it, but I guess I just never pictured myself on unemployment. Then again, I never pictured myself with multiple sclerosis and sitting in a wheelchair, but here I am and there you have it. However, I hear collecting unemployment is the new 30!

This afternoon, has been relatively calm. I met with my financial advisor a little while ago and it boils down to this: I am going to have to work until I’m 95 in order to retire. LOL

My cleaning service is here now dusting, vacuuming and washing away my clutter. It smells like peppermint when they leave.

Last night, my softball team, the Dallas Titans, held a fundraiser with the Oak Lawn Tennis Association. We were raising money for Camp Esperanza. Camps Esperanza is summer camp for kids with (being trite for) cancer. The week-long campo costs $500 for a child to attend. We have typically sent 4 or 5 kids each summer. This year, however, we will be sending 11 kids to camp - all expenses paid. We raised $5500. AMAZING!!!!

Given all of the medical expenses these families have, it is nice to be able to sponsors 11 kids to go to summer camp and just be kids for a week - and forget about treatments and hospitals and procedures.

Anyhoozle, what are your plans today?

Whatever, your day holds and whatever your plans may be, I wish you all a SPECTACULAR day. Do everything today with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one!
