Good Morning, Possums - Happy Saturday and Happy Weekend. It has been a very busy week - busy, but productive.
*This post contains a few expletives and colorful metaphors!
I guess the big thing that happened (to me) would be my trips into the office on Tuesday and Thursday. While it was great to be in the office with my teaming everyone, it was a beat down. My body needs to build up some strength because I was wiped out whenI got home.
Wednesday, I got the Botox in my legs and as expected, my legs were transformed and rejuvenated into those of a young, vibrant Juliette Prowse. But that’s not the only thing that happened…
All Wednesday morning as I fixed and ate my breakfast, worked and got ready to go to the Botox doctor, little things would happen that pissed me off: dropping things that were difficult (for me) to pick up, running into that, hitting my foot on this - and testing my already dysfunctional relationship with God, I told him in no uncertain terms, that he could get down off of his high, holy thrown and help me out a little bit (like I had asked him earlier in my morning prayers).
Well, I thought my prayers fell on deaf ears because things continued to happen that (I thought) he could have easily prevented - things (I thought) should not happen to anyone with MS (not just me) or any other debilitating disease. So I continued to be mad at him.
I went downstairs to get my Uber to the doctor. My Uber driver pulled up in an Escapade which I climbed alley myself. As we began the trip, she was playing and rapping along with the music. It was some hard core rap about shooting and killing and the “N” word was used a good bit as well as some rough language. Having the mouth of a sailor, the rough language was fine with me.
About half way to the hospital, my Uber driver turned the music down and said, hand to God, “Mr. Jones, my heart is telling me to tell you that Jesus loves you.”
Well shit! He couldn’t have sent me that message a few hours ago? My Botox appointment went well as did the rest of my day.
Thursday was quite busy. I was in the office for eight hours and that evening, I went to see theBroadway touring productions “Pretty Woman, the Musical.”
Yes, the movie (of the same name) has been transformed into a musical. And like so many other films that have suffered the same transformation, that transformation never should hav happened.
While the musicals boasted some fire power from Adam Pascal, Tony nominee for his performance in “Rent”, another show I’d rather roll around naked in broken glass than sit through again, it just didn’t work. And the young woman playing Vivienne tried as hard as she could, but her singing was pitchy at best.
The entire cast (in my opinion) was entirely too young for their parts and they were either not believable or tended to overact because, I can only imagine, this tour was their professional debut.
The choreography was juvenile at best and not up to the standards (again, in my opinion) of a musical on there main stem.
Here’s my take on musicals - if I don’t leave the show with at least one of the songs playing on repeat in my head, then I’m sorry - that dog just won’t hunt. While the show didn’t completely suck, it is not one I care to see again.
In MS/Kankle news, I am still moving around fairly well and my kankles remain at bay. I cannot even begin to tell how nice it is to look down and see two feet instead two hooves.
In Personal Assistant news, I made an offer - a very nice offer - and i believe I have been ghosted again! Seriously! Can you believe it? I am going to keep searching until I find someone reliable that is not a complete flake!
Whew - I have been holding that in for two days! OK, I need to start my weekend.
What are your plans today?
Anyhoozle, I wish you and everyone around you a SPECTACULAR day. Do everything today with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one!
Peace, Love and Blessings to you all. -AJ
