My Life with Multiple Sclerosis 111422

Hellooooooooooooooo, Possuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuums! Coming to you from the Celebrity Suites of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas. Today is Monday, November 14. It’s going to be a gray, rainy day with a high of 42 degrees. Happy Birthday to: Dana Marie Good Morning and Happy Holidays, Possums. It’s a chilly day in Big D. Time to kick off another work week. I wish I was going to work. I am well-aware my commute is a matter of feet, Part of me feels guilty for leaving my team in a lurch, but the other part of me knows I made the right decision. I probably should have done it sooner but I thought I could handle it all. However the effects of the treatments, medications, blood draws, urinalysis, MRIs, hospital stays, falls on the floor and trips to the ER - well, for me it was just too much. It is too much. It’s like having a second full time job. Something had to give. I am thankful for a company, team and manager that supports me 100%. MS Warriors - don’t let guilt consume you. Getting and keeping your MS under control can be / is a full time job. Listen to your body. I have learned so much; some of it the hard way. Someone recently told me that I need to know my new limits. PISH POSH!!! My limits are not limits at all. My limits are my new goals. Time to focus on me and eventually reaching and surpassing those goals. And to the individual who told me to know my limits - as compassionate and understanding and friendly as you thought you were being at the time..…bless you. Bless you, repeatedly! Sometimes people get under my skin and in the rare instance that happens, something unflattering has the tiniest potential to slip out of my mouth. But I live by the words of Claree Belcher as she spoke to Truvy Jones at the Eatenton Christmas party - “if you can’t say anything nice about anybody, come sit by me”! Yes, I just quoted Steel Magnolias! For not having to go work, my day is jam-packed and fun-filled: Botox in my legs, bloodwork to check my lymphocyte levels to make sure I can have my chemo next week, a urinalysis to make sure my kids are handling the chemotherapy, my COVID shot and hopefully some scheduling from my assistant if she accepts the position. OK - that was a lot. I’m exhausted. What are your plans today? Anyhoozle, I wish you and everyone around you a SPECTACULAR day. Do everything today with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one! Peace, Love and Blessings to you all. -AJ
