Hello, Possuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuums! Coming to you from the Celebrity Suites of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas. I’m baaaaaaaaaaaaaack. Today is Monday, September 19. It’s going to be a partly cloudy day in Dallas today with a high of 94.
Happy Birthday to:
Chad Grimes
Jared Cohen
Susan Hamilton Roberts
Happy Monday. It’s time to kick off another work week (or in my case, it’s time to catch up on being gone for a week and a half). Yes, for nearly three years, I was able to evade the COVID. But on Wednesday, September 7, my name was taken and my ass was kicked.
Mom and Dad flew out to be here as well. It is NOT lost on me that my parents are able to be here at the drop of a hat - and for this I am blessed and grateful. My friends here in Dallas took care of me as well - again grateful and blessed am I!
I was forced to take up residence on the Celebrity Wing of the UT Southwestern Spa and Resort where I was pumped full of drugs and had another MRI. This was a necessary, yet hateful, task because it showed there were no changes from my previous MRI.
When I get an infection or something like the flu, my body will stop what it is doing and begin fighting that which allows my MS symptoms to emerge. COVID did that to me by taking away my legs and giving me a fever of 100 - not too high, but high enough that you feel like crap.
I only had fever for three days. After that, I needed physical / occupational therapy to regain my strength and retrain my body to what I needed it to do - in my case, use my legs. After a few more days of recovery, I was transferred to facility to do just that - so off I went to the Non-Celebrity Occupational / PhysicalTherapy In-Patient Facility.
I could not wait to leave this place. Cheese and Crackers, this place was awful. I was scheduled for three hours of physical / occupational therapy per day, but that just never seemed to happen. WTH? I was confined to my room and my room only because of the COVID. I slept the majority of the time I was there. If anything, COVID completely zapped me of any energy I had, wanted to have or thought about having.
I negotiated my release yesterday and came home. However, my internal medicine / infectious diseases doctor from UTSW has me quarantined until 9/28. After 9/28, I am free to mask up and rejoin society at my own risk.
I am glad to be working today and even though I am confined to my casa, I have my bed, my shower, my couch, My Real Housewives and Season 10 of the Great British Baking Show has begun (on Netflix). I highly recommend it.
What’s on your schedule today?
Anyhoozle, I wish you and everyone around you a SPECTACULAR day. Do everything today with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one! And be thankful!
Peace, Love and Blessings to you all. -AJ
