My Life with Multiple Sclerosis 052022

Good Morning, Possums, from the Celebrity Suite of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek. Today is Friday, May 20. It’s going to be start off cloudy today in Big D but turn sunny with a high of 94. We may even get a thunderstorm this evening.

Happy birthday to:

Connie Nuckols

It’s FRIDAY!!!! FRIYAY - TGIF and all that stuff!. I can’t decide if it’s funny or sad that I love my Fridays. My ‘new normal’ Friday, for almost a year now, is getting in a full day of work (4am-12pm) and then having a plasma exchange from 1pm-4pm. Who can say?

While I am glad it’s the weekend, I think I am more excited about my appointment on Monday. I have an appointment with my Neurologist’s PA Monday afternoon. I have lots of questions around this chemo treatment I am going to receive in June. Well, it’s almost June and I want to get it on my schedule. Not only because I am OCD and a bit anal-retentive, but June is probably one of the busiest times of the year for me at work. It has been for the last 15 years and this year is no exception. I hope she can provide some answers.

Also, my neuropathy is off the charts lately. I am hopeful that having PLEX today will help me not feel like my entire body is vibrating. MS is a monster that has consumed me for nearly two solid years. I would like to tame this beast at some point. Chemotherapy is going to help. What’s another IV drip, right? Only this time, it will not be fresh, clean plasma. It will be poison.

The kid in me still craves for one of the treatments to transform me into a superhero (sans the tights and the cape - well, maybe a cape) and give me superpowers; flight, super speed and strength, the ability to shoot plasma beams from my hands or be able to control the weather with my mind. But for the time being, my superpowers consist of hope, faith, prayer, family and friends…..and the ability to drink an ice-cold, dirty martini in the blink of an eye!

HAPPY FRIDAY, EVERYONE!

Anyhoozle, make it a SPECTACULAR day. Not just for you, but for everyone around you. Do everything today with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. Be one of them! And as always:

...wear a mask (when appropriate)
...be kind and compassionate to one another
...dance/sing/laugh it out. It might not help but it sure as hell couldn't hurt.

Peace, Love and Blessings to you all. -AJ
