On November 17th, National Butter Day gives this creamy ingredient, and those who make it, a ‘pat’ on the back. Few ingredients make a meal richer and more flavorful than butter.
Butter has been used for thousands of years. The butter churn was an essential tool in many kitchens as recently as the first half of the last century, (Geez last century - I was born LAST CENTURY. But I digress).
Around the dinner table, the phrase “Please, pass the butter,” connects us to those we break bread with and to the food we love to eat. Just watch the video below and HAPPY NATIONAL BUTTER DAY!
Happy Hump Day - we made it half way through the week. It’s going to be a mostly sunny and warm day in Dallas today - closer to Fall temperatures than yesterday was but not by much. LOL
I went out for sushi with some friends last night - for a birthday dinner. It was very good. However, I was nervous quite nervous. I have not used chopsticks in a very long time. Last year at this time, I couldn’t even write my name, let alone hold / use chopsticks. I can write my name now and I am happy to say, I could use chopsticks with no issues.
I know that may sound a little (or a lot) pretentious - using chopsticks - but when your body begins to turn on you and things are slowly taken away from you - things you are used to being able to do without an ounce of thought or concentration - like writing your name or using chopsticks, well, let’s just say it is very eye-opening and you begin to wonder and ask yourself, “what will I be robbed of next?”
BUT, thanks to modern medicine (and a great Neurological team), I was as clumsy as I have always been with chopsticks and I didn’t drop a single piece of sushi and I can write my own name just as horribly as ever.
WIN-WIN!!!!
Today shouldn’t be as nearly as busy or as stressful as the last few weeks / days have been. I only have three meetings at work and a planning meeting for the MS Walk for 2022. I am working / volunteering with the National MS Society now. Not to worry, I know it’s the holiday - I am not raising or asking for money YET! But come February / March, I shall begin asking, begging and pleading for your support.
What is on your schedule today?
Anyhoozle, I hope you all have a wonderful day and whatever you do today and every day, do it with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one! And as always:
...wear a mask
...be kind and compassionate to one another
...dance/sing/laugh it out. It might not help but it sure as hell couldn't hurt.
Peace, Love and Blessings to you all.
