Good Morning, Possums, and Happy Friday Eve. The weekend is almost here. The weather is going to jump up 30 degrees so it should be a nice one.
Yesterday was a busy one. Editing our podcast took up quite a bit of time but it is finished and ready for public consumption. We had such a great discussion with Author (and friend) @Kevin, Kevin Jones. Next Monday, our guest is Becca Wheeler. She will join us to discuss her mission trips, how she got involved with mission work and what impact they have had on her. It will be another great show.
Today is not smooch busy as it is exhausting. Not a lot happening this morning, but I have PLEX (plasma exchange) this afternoon at 1pm. So yes, I will be bringing Plex-y back once again. After that -well, that wipes me out but I’m keeping my options open.

Good Morning, Possums, Happy Wednesd.ay and Happy Hump day. We made it half way through the week. It was 94 degrees here yesterday and it’s 52 degrees today. WTH?
It’s a busy day today. I have to finish editing our podcast and get it up on the download site and also up on Youtube. This episode is a little longer than the others because we had some very good discussion about the book (with the author of the book) and it was difficult to cut any of that out. And, I have MS mouth intros episode. It was harder to speak and get things out. I hate that. Regardless, it will be up available today at some point.
Mom and Dad will be here next Tuesday evening and I am excited for them to get here. I need to go ahead tingand start looking for flights home this summer. It will be here before you know it.

Good Morning, Possums and Happy Tuesday. I hope your week is going well. It was 94 degrees here yesterday….and it’s FEBRUARY! No worries, the high on Thursday is 50. WTH?
We had a great podcast last night. Author (and friend) Kevin Jones joined us for the show. We discussed his book and had our usual segments as well. I am editing the recording today and hope to have it available for consumption tomorrow.
After my plasma exchange on Thursday, I am free of all medical appointments for two whole weeks. Am I excited about that? YES! Mom and Dad arrive next Tuesday and they will be here for a week. Am I excited about that? YES!! They will get to see the progress I have made since having shingles for so long.
On Friday, March 1, I will begin my annual fundraiser for Multiple Sclerosis. This disease has altered the course of my life and it has affected my family and my friends. I wouldn’t say that it has made my life hell, but it has a been very challenging. I have tried my hardest not to complain about it, but to approach each setback as just another bump in the road that I need to get over. There are people far worse off than I am.
This disease is awful. I know how lucky I am to have the friends and family I have - to have accomplished what I have accomplished and blessed to have had the experiences I have had before MS reared its ugly head.
Over the past three years I have raised a total of $36,000. Let’s add another ten-fifteen thousand to that this. I hope I can count on your support. Let’s find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis.

It’s another beautiful day in Dallas. It’s a perfect day to kickoff the softball season. GO TITANS both teams).
I’m busy finishing reading a book for tomorrow. Joining on our podcast is author (and friend) Kevin Jones (no relation that I know of). All cohosts and featured members are reading his book so we can discuss it (intelligently) when we record tomorrow night.
The following week, our very special guest will be Becca Wheeler who will discuss her mission trips to Guatemala, how she prepared, what projects she worked on while she was there and why mission trips are so important.
I have nothing (but the podcast recording Monday and PLEX on Friday) on my calendar this week. NOTHING! No doctor appointments, no physical or occupational therapy. It’s a light week. That will give me time to prepare for the arrival of mom and dad the following week.

Good Afternoon, Possums and Happy Friday and Happy Weekend!
It’s a beautiful day in Dallas. This weather is crazy-good. It’s going to be (close to) 90 degrees med-week. It does, however, make me wonder how hot it is going to be this summer.
Busy morning today - picked up my new glasses and I CAN SEE AGAIN. WHEW! What a relief! The transition time between old and new glasses prescriptions is awful. And (for me) it feels like my eyes get worse during that time.
I just finished republishing episode 4 of our podcast. We had some technical issues but I got everything ironed out and it is once again available for the masses to consume and enjoy.
I think I am getting stronger. My legs are moving better, my feet are normal sized feet and I don’t have that feeling of impending fatigue hanging over my head. That hasn’t happened in a LONG TIME and it feels nice!

We are having some beautiful weather right now and it looks like the warm temperatures are going to be around for a while. That’s a great thing since softball starts this weekend.
Yesterday was a busy day. I finished editing episode #4 of our podcast and got it published and uploaded. It is a good/funny episode (I think) and we have our first guest on as well. On our episode next week, we have another guest, Kevin Jones, to discuss his book. I have known Kevin since 1994 (yikes), He is a good person and a great friend.

Today, I might relax a little bit and then this evening, we have a show in our Broadway Dallas series, Beetlejuice, the Musical. A review will be in our podcast next week. I watched the movie (never seen it) in preparation for the show. We have great seats - 4th row center orchestra. So even if the show is bad, the seats are excellent - LOL.

I was busy yesterday with physical and occupational therapy and editing our podcast from Monday evening. I hope to get through editing today.
It’s the middle of February. There is eight months (and some change) until the election and I am already SICK of political ads. This does not bode well for me. In addition to the ads on television, I’m getting (I’m sure you are too) emails, texts, phone calls and snail mail.
I get it - I get it - You think you’re a million times better than your opponent because you have 12 degrees and you recycle and you’re in MENSA and you, your wife and your two or three children go to church every Sunday where you teach Sunday School and collect the offering. Also, your wife is president of the neighborhood association, Garden Club, Junior League and she’s a soccer mom.
All the while, (according to you) your opponent never went to college, doesn’t recycle, worships Satan, follows Putin on Facebook, has a homosexual brother, uses pronouns on his LinkedIn profile and… he’s vegan.
ENOUGH ALREADY! These people are worse than the Real Housewives of ANYWHERE! I wish there was a way to ignore all of it, but it seems like it is going to find a way to you one way or another.

and Happy President’s Day! I hope you’ll are enjoying the day off.
It was a good weekend for the most part. Yesterday, I met my friends out in the afternoon for a refreshing cocktail. It was fun with the exception of one little incident which made me wonder…what drives people to help other people or another person. Is it the way we were/are raised? Educated? Is it something inside us that tells us we should help someone with a door or carry a bag of groceries even help a little old lady across the street? Even when we talk smack about someone we do it behind their back. It’s called ‘manners”. LOL
I ask these questions because I took an Uber to meaty friends yesterday. We arrived at the destination. I slowly got out of the vehicle, no issues and anatomy chair. I did not notice that my chair was sitting in some loose gravel and sand and was not maneuverable. I was stuck in one spot. My Uber drive sat in the car and watched me struggle to mover about a minute. Eventually, he got out of his car came around and saw where I was. I politely asked him if he would give me a little push up to the walk way. He said, “No” and got back in his car and left.
Can you believe it? A couple passing by overheard the Uber driver and came over and helped me. They both couldn’t believe it either. That put me in a mood for about 20 minutes but I got over it and enjoyed the rest of my day with my friends.
I just don’t understand some people! I haven’t tipped or rated him yet. I’m still trying to turn the other cheek (so to speak).
Today,I am busy doing a little laundry and getting ready to record episode four of our podcast this evening. and Happy President’s Day! I hope you’ll are enjoying the day off.
It was a good weekend for the most part. Yesterday, I met my friends out in the afternoon for a refreshing cocktail. It was fun with the exception of one little incident which made me wonder…what drives people to help other people or another person. Is it the way we were/are raised? Educated? Is it something inside us that tells us we should help someone with a door or carry a bag of groceries even help a little old lady across the street? Even when we talk smack about someone we do it behind their back. It’s called ‘manners”. LOL
I ask these questions because I took an Uber to meaty friends yesterday. We arrived at the destination. I slowly got out of the vehicle, no issues and anatomy chair. I did not notice that my chair was sitting in some loose gravel and sand and was not maneuverable. I was stuck in one spot. My Uber drive sat in the car and watched me struggle to mover about a minute. Eventually, he got out of his car came around and saw where I was. I politely asked him if he would give me a little push up to the walk way. He said, “No” and got back in his car and left.
Can you believe it? A couple passing by overheard the Uber driver and came over and helped me. They both couldn’t believe it either. That put me in a mood for about 20 minutes but I got over it and enjoyed the rest of my day with my friends.
I just don’t understand some people! I haven’t tipped or rated him yet. I’m still trying to turn the other cheek (so to speak).
Today,I am busy doing a little laundry and getting ready to record episode four of our podcast this evening. Good Morning, Possums and Happy Saturday
and Happy Weekend. We are over half way through February. After January, the months seem to pick up speed.
Yesterday was kind of a bust for me. I had a meeting in the morning but after that, PLEX from the day before caught up to me and I was down for the count for most of the day.
Not much going on today - a trip to the Boardroom to shave my head and trim my beard and the deforestation of my ears (ear waxing). It’s going to be chilly today but later in the week, those spring temperatures are going to make their way into town. It’s gonna be 80 mid-week.
That’s it for now. I think I may try to sleep for another hour or so - been up since 2:00am.

I hope you all had a great Valentine’s day. Quick post today - I wanted to get in my birthday wishes. Been out this morning to breakfast at Lucky’s with my assistant. Then, we went to pick out my new frames for my glasses. DAMN! THOSE THINGS ARE EXPENSIVE.
So, I have a few minutes to do my birthday wishes and say HELLO before I get all slathered up (on my arm and port in my chest) with numbing cream and head to PLEX (plasma exchange) for the afternoon.

Good Morning, Possums and Happy Wednesday, Happy Hump Day, Happy Valentines Day and Happy Ash Wednesday. There’s a lot going on today!
First, Happy Valentines Day to all my Possums in Possum Nation. I’m sending you all lots of Love and Light today and wishing you all a spectacular day. And I thank you all for reading, liking and sharing my posts each day. I hope they make your day a little lighter and brighter.
Second, Happy Ash Wednesday. Time to finalize my decision of what I am giving up/taking on. I thought about giving up cussing inn attempt to curb my sailor-like mouth but that never works and I find it too cathartic (for me) - especially when I am having a rough MS related day. I know you probably don’t get that, but if you could walk a mile in my shoes (roll a mile in my chair), you would understand.
And third, we made it half way through the week. I think today, I am going to get a mani/pedi. I need to get my claws and hooves tended to. It’s been a while. After that, I may do a little pre-podcast set up for next Monday. I am excited to have our first guest on our show.

Good Morning, Possums and Happy FAT Tuesday. There’s a party going on in New Orleans. Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday and I am still at a loss of what to give up/take on.
One thing I’d like to give up is those flipping Jardiance commercials. There’s a new one - same song, different people and setting. And it is just as annoying as the first one. Oh well, I will think on it today.
This morning, I have physical and occupational therapy and then probably a nap. I have been awake since 2:30am. I’ve showered, dressed, done a load of laundry, made coffee, scheduled my Uber to OT/PT….I am probably going to crash for a few hours when I get back.
Also, I need to work on getting the remainder of our guests scheduled for our podcast. We have guests scheduled every week for the rest of this season. Topics include the Irving Schools Foundation, Multiple Sclerosis, Breast Cancer Awareness, Author (and my friend) Kevin Jones will be on to discuss his book and much more. I hope you will download and listen or watch Youtube.

Good Morning, Possums and Happy Monday. It’s time to kick off another work week.
The Super Bowl is over. Did Taylor Swift win? Just kidding - the Kansas City Chiefs have been crowned the winners and Grand Pooh Bah’s of all things football. I do not really care for basketball so the next sport that I will sort of pay attention to is baseball. Go Braves and Go Rangers!
I enjoyed some of the Super Bowl commercials, but my faves were the movie trailers. The Deadpool/Wolverine trailer looked great. The Wicked trailer looked OK. I am not thrilled about Ariana Grande. - just NOT a fan - bless her heart.
And Beyonce dropped two country songs. WTF? I think I am ready for her to go away for a while and come back in a few years.
Not a lot on my calendar today other than some busy work - replying to email and snail mail. I may go get a mani/pedi.
My MS symptoms seem to be at bay for now. My walking is SLOWLY getting better. If this last shingled area only leg would clear up that would be fantastic. It’s keep ingle from making any more improvement. I know….patience!

Yesterday was a bit of a bust. It was rainy and not very pleasant outside yesterday (like today) and I was a bit lazy as well. Today, I’m going to go to church (online) and….I have no idea. I suppose I should prep for the week ahead but I bet I will find a reason not to. An unscheduled nap may get in the way.
This week we have Valentine’s Day on Wednesday, and Thursday we will be over half way through the month of February. Where has the time gone? I guess when you stay busy time really does goes by a great deal faster.
My week will be spent in physical therapy, occupational therapy, plasma exchange (PLEX), preparing for episode four of our podcast, planning the launch of my annual fundraiser for Multiple Sclerosis and I’ll finish it up with my first shingles vaccine.
GEEZ - I need to do more things and have more things in my life that are less medical/disease-centric! I’ll work on that this week too.

Good Morning, Possums and Happy Friday, Happy FriYAY and Happy Super Bowl Weekend. Are you ready for some football and some commercials and(depending on what your plans are) some tailgate food? I think the big question is: will Taylor Swift make it back for Japan in time to support her man, Travis Kelce? Who can say? Also, GO CHIEFS!
Yesterday, I had physical therapy. It was very difficult and quite painful. But when it was over, I HAD WALKED 200 FEET. I haven’t walked in over a year. When I got home, I took a nap. It was exhausting.
Today, I have nothing scheduled and I am OK with that. I will probably spend the day working on some podcast scheduling and finishing up with mail (both snail and e-).

Good Morning, Possums and Happy Wednesday and Happy Hump Day. We made it half way through the week.
It’s been a busy week. The days are going by quickly and today will be no exception. Today’s agenda is filled with replying the mail (snail and e-) and finishing editing episode #3 of our podcast. I would like to get it uploaded and available for download this afternoon. We all have a friend in town from Denver so I think a cocktail maybe be in order this evening.
Ash Wednesday is one week away which means it is time to think about what I want to give up or take up for the forty plus days after.
We give up things during the Lent season to remind ourselves of the suffering and pain that we know Jesus will experience at the end of the season. We also give up things to be reminded of our dependence on God.
Caffeine shouldn’t be the thing that compels us to live. God’s love and grace is what should compel us to live and love. Giving up coffee is not trivial at all. When that dull headache starts rolling in, we reflect on our mortality, our weakness, and our dependence on coffee (it’s only 9am — how am I getting a caffeine headache already?) which should remind us of God’s mercy and grace and presence.
Lent can also be understood as some sort of house cleaning. Just like how we may clean our house in preparation for a guest, we take time to examine our lives and in clean our hearts to prepare to encounter the Risen Christ at Easter. So we clean out the things that hinder our relationships with God and with others.
The main purpose of “giving up” things in Lent is to bring us closer to God; to prioritize God; to put God in the center of our minds and lives; to make God the focal point.
So if you’re thinking about giving up chocolate — do it! But also ask yourself “how will that bring me closer to God?”
So - are you giving up or taking or anything for Lent?
