Good Morning, Possums. Happy Tuesday and Happy Halloween. Is everyone dressing up in costume and going to work? I’m dressing up as an MS patient with a sunny disposition and a zest for life. LOL

Alright, let’s get to it. Yesterday was my first day with Doug, one of my new assistants. I wasn’t sure how this was going to work but we figured it out. He arrived on time and we chatted for a bit then he got busy. He made my brekky, did the laundry and put it away, cleaned out the fridge, made up my bed, measured my shower for a chair/bench so we can go shopping at some point, made my lunch and cleaned up dishes…this could work out OK!

The most important thing, I think we can all agree, he took time out to watch the Price is Right.

My only concern is his age. He is 15 years older than I am..so he’s 50. If I were to fall, there is no way in hell he could get me up. But other than that, everything was good. He is coming back today and Friday. Not sure who will be here Wednesday and Thursday.

I would give Doug a 7 out of 10 (I’ve never had an assistant so I don’t want to over rate him - and 7 seems decent but safe). Let’s see how things go from here. Stay tuned…

Coming to you from the Celebrity Suite of a home in the Creekwood neighborhood, today is Sunday, October 29 and the high temperature is going to be 80 degrees and sunny…and it’s going to be 43 degrees when I land in Dallas.

No birthdays on my calendar today.

I’m headed back home to Dallas his afternoon. I need to prepare for the arrival of Doug tomorrow - my new assistant. I have a rather busy week with appointments and whatnot. I’m ready to jump in and get going.

But before I do, I have to thank my incredibly wonderful parents and family for looking after me for the last seven.eight weeks - while I had the shingles. I am lucky and blessed beyond belief to have their love and support. I couldn’t do hardly anything - shingles suck, by the way. I love you mom and dad.

But it’s time for me to get back and begin again - treatments, PLEX, appointments and Doug on Mondays and Fridays. Not sure who is coming Tuesday thru Thursday.

Good Morning, Possums and Happy Saturday. It’s a beautiful day here in South Carolina. Not too much planned today - a little laundry - begin packing for my return to home to Dallas. There’s some fresh, frozen, human plasma with my name on it and I need it coursing through my veins pronto. Sounds lovely, right?

I also need to prepare for Doug. Doug is my Monday/Friday Assistant. Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday are still up in the air. I have no idea what to do with this person. Should I make a list of things he/we need to do? Places I need to go? Well, I had better come up with a plan pretty fast.

Good Afternoon, Possums and Happy Friday, TGIF and Happy Weekend.I hope you all are having a wonderful Friday.  I haven’t been doing too much today - just enjoying the beautiful Carolina weather and watching the manhunt for that very sick man in Maine.  Isn’t that just awful?

I have tried to work on our podast (It’s Five O’clock Somewhere, Henny - coming soon to a podcast dispensary near you - or wherever you consume your podcasts) but I can’t keep focus.

I think have a lot on my mind with dad not feeling well, the thought of allowing someone in my home five days a week (I know they are there to help me, but still), adapting to a new schedule/way of doing things…

However, I do get to get back to my PLEX!  It’s time.  I need it.  Hopefully, it will help in my recovery from the shingles.  Maybe not but I choose to remain hopeful.

Good Morning, Possums and Happy Thursday and Happy Friday Eve. This work week is about to be over. YAY!

I slept seven hours last night. That almost NEVER happens. I’m not complaining, mind you, but I’m just surprised. I am feeling much better - netter than I have in weeks.

There’s something going on with the nerves in my feet. I don’t know if it’s nerve damage from the MS at work or the shingles but any time my (bare) toes touch metal or wood, it’s as if some has just set mean fire. I can’t even describe the pain. But if I have socks/shoes on, it’s not a problem. I don’t get it.

Get your shingles shots folks - this is not a game or a drill. (And your flu shot too).

Home Health is all set up to begin the day after I return to Dallas. My new assistant will cook, do laundry, take me to appointments / meetings, run errands, pick up prescriptions - all the things I have difficulty doing to a certain degree.

First - WAY TO GO, TEXAS RANGERS - World Series Bound!

OK, now that is out of the way!

I can feel the top part of my legs as well as my butt cheeks. They have been numb to the touch (thanks a lot, shingles) for five weeks. I think / hope / pray that the shingles are on the way out. Then the MS will be the only pain in my ass. LOL

Filming for the movie is underway. They texted this morning - not enough people showed up to be extras. I am open to negotiations but they know my terms. I am willing to concede on a few of my terms in exchange for top billing. LMAO

Looking forward to a visit from my friend, Tricia Sluder Witherspoon, this afternoon. We can catch up and make our annual Christmas get-together plans.

Dad is heading the doctor this afternoon. We are going to get him fixed up and back to normal.

Good Afternoon, Possums and Happy Monday.  I hope your work week has started off well.  My shingles recovery is still progressing but it is a slow process.

Now mom has a terrible cold and dad is feeling a bit under the weather as well.  We are just a hot mess.  Please pray for healing in this house.  We all need it.

The movie at our church begins filming tomorrow.  Sadly, I will not be taking part.  We couldn’t come to an agreement on the terms of my contract.  I don’t think I requested too much.  They wanted to begin filming at 7am.  I didn’t want to begin until 9am.  They wanted to put me in the same room with all of the extras (nonspeaking towns people).  I wanted my own trailer.  They wanted to pay me nothing and well, that was just the squaw that stroked the camel’s sac…I mean the straw that broke the camel’s back.  LOL

Besides, it would mean crossing the picket line and I can’t do that.  I was going to, but I can’t!  Mr. DeMille will have to wait for my close-up :(

Wheelchair - it is still GREAT and it still has that ‘New Wheelchair Smell’.  I am looking for some LED Neon Green Lights.  Any idea where I may find some.
