HELLO, POSSUUUUUUUUUUUUMS!
Coming to you from the Celebrity Suites of the Wyndemere at Turtle Creek Condominiums in Dallas, Texas. Today is Sunday, May 25, 2025.
How is everyone? I hope you are well. I’ve missed our daily chats, but I’m working my way back to that.
I have had a few colds have have kept me down and away from my (necessary) PLEX (plasma exchange) but I have made my way back and I am ready to resume a normal schedule of shows, celebrity concerts, brunches, happy hours Board meetings, fundraising and podcasts as well as doctors appointments including Neurology, Physical Medication and Rehabilitation, Audiology, Hematology and Oncology, Endocrinology and Optometry, not to forget my upcoming MRI and blood work and daily battles with Social Security.
See? My life is full. However, the first part of that run-on sentence is way more fun that the last part.
Before MS made its presence known in my body, I thought nothing of eating alone, going to a movie alone or even the theater. It just was not an issue for me. Ever since my MS really kicked in and made things more ‘exciting’, I have been hesitant to do things alone. Well that all ended three weeks ago when I attended a concert starring Michael Feinstein.
Most of you, I’m guessing 99.9 percent of you, are saying, WHO?” Michael Feinstein - an excellent pianist and singer I was introduced to 40 years ago. Well, he came to Dallas and went (alone) and it was wonderful!
I anticipating attending this concert alone since none of my friends had heard of him. It made me nervous thinking of attending alone, but this was the perfect opportunity to gain that part of independence back. The venue is only two miles from my home and I volunteered there for six years so I knew most of the people there. I DID IT! I WON!
I attended another celebrity concert last evening and it was wonderful. This time, it was three-time Tony award winner Patti LuPone. You either love her or you hate her. I Love Her. She is a Diva and a Legend and I got to see and hear her perform the songs she is famous for: Don’t Cry for Me, Argentina (Tony #1, Evita), Some People (Tony #2, Gypsy), Anything Goes (Tony Nomination, Anything Goes) and The Ladies Who Lunch (Tony #3, Company).
Again, I went alone to this concert, however, I enter the venue my new motorized chair. No-one pushing or me or holding my things as I wheeled myself around. IT WAS FABULOUS.
And this chair is a game-changer. It holds a charge for a long time and it’s fast and I bought a new leathern shoulder bag it carry the charger in when I venture out. But best of all, it folds flat and it’s light-weight.
I am clawing my way back to getting as close to normal as I can. Watch out world!!!!
Today, I have attended church and I am currently watching the French Open. I believe I may enjoy getting out and about later this afternoon and enjoy a cocktail or two.
-No new podcast this week, but we will retune next week.
-MS Walk Fundraising final total and review tomorrow.
How are you? I’d love to hear from you.
