My Life with Multiple Sclerosis 062823

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo,
Possuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuums!

Coming to you from the Celebrity Suites of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas. Today is Wednesday, June 28. It’s another sweltering day in Dallas with a high of around 101 degrees with a heat index of 110.

Happy Belated Birthday to:

Jacob Moore
Johann Jooste
Norma Hustead
Ray Mach
Sara Comer

No birthdays on my calendar today.

Good Morning, Possums. Happy Hump Day. We have made it half way through the week.

Well, my house is clean. My suitcase is out and partially packed. Laundry is going. Plants are watered. PLEX is tomorrow. Haircut and shave is Friday. I guess I am about ready to head home for a couple of weeks.

I have decided that I hate being unemployed. I have applied for every job I can, but I have only heard from a few. I spoke to a former work colleague yesterday. She was laid off the same day as I was and she has not heard anything from employers either. She also has not heard from anyone where we worked…well, we have both heard from one person. Granted, she was there for a short time but I was there for sixteen years!

She said, and I agree, it is almost like they put up a wall and will not let anyone speak to us. It just doesn’t make any sense and it is a little unsettling. There are several people l like and that I am fond of. Oh well, I can’t dwell on that right now. I have other irons in the fire I need to tend to at the moment.

New Wheelchair News: When I checked the status a minute ago, it says the same thing:

Your Numotion team has completed the custom configuration of your mobility equipment. We are now conducting a thorough review of your order as well as working with your therapist and clinical team to complete the necessary medical justification documents and submit to your insurance provider or funding source for approval.

Health/Medical Insurance - is an eff’in RAQUET!!! It is only second behind HOAs! I can’t prove it, but they were created / invented by the Devil Himself!

In KANKLE NEWS: Still puffy but not nearly as bad. PLEX has helped. PLEX tomorrow will help a little more.

Anyhoozle, what are your plans today?

Whatever your day holds and whatever your plans may be, I wish you all a SPECTACULAR day. Do everything today with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one!

To all of my fellow MS Warriors, keep fighting the good fight. And to all MS Warrior Supporters, Thank You! Your support means everything.

Peace, Love and Blessings to you all. -AJ

My Life with Multiple Sclerosis 062523

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo,
Possuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuums!

Coming to you from the Celebrity Suites of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas. Today is Sunday, June 25. It’s a sweltering day in Dallas with a high of around 101 degrees. That is a bit of a relief from the 110-120 heat index we had last week.

Happy Belated Birthday to:

Dillon Meek
Marsha Smiley
Will Freeman

Happy Birthday to:

Joey Jones

Good Afternoon, Possums. Happy Sunday and welcome to the start of the week, the last week in June and Ean you believe it? 2023 is half way over.

I am excited because the house cleaner(s) come tomorrow at 10am and after, I can begin packing for my trip on Saturday. I will be starting the second half of 2023 with my family at Edistow Beach in Charleston, SC and at home in York for a week. I’ll be there for Dad’s birthday as well.

PLEX last week was exhausting. It had been two months since my last PLEX and I think I had forgotten how it wipes me out. Well, this one was no different. Got a quick reminder when I tried to do anything on Friday. I was whooped!

I think I will head out today for an afternoon beverage with some friends before coming home and cleaning before the cleaners come tomorrow (you know you do that too).

New Wheelchair News: When I checked the status a minute ago, not says this:

Good Morning, Possums.  Happy Friday Eve.  It is almost the weekend.  I do not think I have any plans other than preparing to go on vacation for a couple of weeks the following weekend.  I am excited to go to the beach with the family, catch up with neighbors and friends, and of course, see my Sweet Angel (great Niece), Clara.  It will be here before you know it.

Yesterday afternoon, I was finally approved by my insurance to have my long-awaited plasma exchange.  I will be heading to the IUT Southwestern Spa and Resort (hospital) to get fresh frozen plasma coursing through my veins.  I am pretty excited about it too!

And don’t forget, Possums, Hallmark begins their Merry Whatever Week this weekend.  LOL. Hard Pass - I have stuff to do!

New Wheelchair Status:  My Doctor is now making my case to Insurance.

My Life with Multip[le Sclerosis 062023

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo,

Possuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuums!

Coming to you from the Celebrity Suites of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas.  Today is Tuesday, June 20.  It’s a sunny day in Dallas with a high of around 100 degrees.  This possum is staying inside!

Happy Belated Birthday to:

Ruth Queen

Happy Birthday to:

Bobby Baldwin

Daren Phillips

Darin

JJ Ponce

Pride Parr

Roger Carbajal

Susan Yaris

Good Afternoon, Possums and Happy Tuesday.   It’s a bit warm today but I guess it is summer (or will be officially tomorrow).

Today, I have been working on getting appointments made and procedures scheduled and yelling at insurance.  No, I do not yell.  I sometimes speak with conviction, but I do not yell.  And, I was trying to schedule my Botox (this time in my face, not my legs) but for the life of me, I just can’t seem to find anywhere that needs it.  (I laughed really hard while I was typing that last sentence).

I cannot wait to be off of these steroids.  I have not slept in months.  I think I have enough to take me through the middle of July and I hope that will be it!

Just perusing through the Facebook, I see several friends and their families, loved ones and significant others are taking vacations or planning to go on vacations and I am no different. In 11 days, I will be heading to SC and to the beach (Edistow) for a few days and then home to York for a week.  I am looking forward to seeing everyone and sitting on the porch in a rocking chair and listening to the trees, bugs, animals….I think it’s called ‘nature’ - I’ll have to do some research.

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo,

Happy Belated Birthday to:

Happy Birthday to:

Paige Durham
Ryan Lehman

Good Afternoon, Possums and Happy Hump Day! HAPPY FRIDAY! TGIF! HAPPY WEEKEND!

It has been very busy but a good one. It has also been a week full of crazy weather, but it’s that time of year. We have had rain almost every night this week and tonight is no exception.

Not a lot going on this weekend. I am OK with that.

No PLEX this week, unfortunately. The individual coding the procedure before it gets sent to insurance for approval did so incorrectly. YOU HAD ONE JOB!!! (No offense, Cousin Randee).

Seriously? I have had this procedure over 200 times! Get it right. I’m not angry, just a little frustrated. Everybody makes mistakes. Im sure this person feels bad enough given that enormous boil on heart butt. Not to worry, I’ll remove the curse as soon as I am once agin cleared for my Plasma Exchange.

Good news - I heard from my neurologist. She called to review the results of my latest exercise in water-boarding (MRI). What in boils down to is: My MRIs are stable which is great news. No new lesions. The active ones aren’t so active anymore. I think she is in to something with this new treatment.

Also, the status of my new custom wheelchair is “in progress”. I cannot wait to get it. (Never thought those words would be coming out of my mouth).

In KANKLE NEWS: There has been a bit of an uprising in KANKLELAND but I am hoping that it will change and go back to normal as soon as that MEDICAL CODER FIXES HER HUMAN ERROR AND I CAN HAVE MY PLASMA EXCHANGE! BLESS HER HEART - I HOPE SHE CAN SIT DOWN COMFORTABLY SOON.

Anyhoozle, what are your plans today?

Whatever your day holds and whatever your plans may be, I wish you all a SPECTACULAR day. Do everything today with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one!

My Life with Multiple Sclerosis 061423

Helloooooooooooooooooooooooooo, Possuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuums!

Today is Wednesday, June 14, 2023.  It’s going to be (it has been) a mostly cloudy day in Dallas with a high of 90.

Happy Birthday to:

Dylan Asher

Heather  Beaudoin

Good Afternoon, Possums, from the Celebrity Suites of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas.  I hope you all have had a wonderful day.

It’s been gloomy and gray here all day with a possibility of more thunderstorms this evening.  I have been very busy running errands, finishing all of that paperwork I have been going through and picking up prescriptions.

This evening, at 7:05pm central time, I will be having the third part of my MRI.  I only had two parts last time.  They were waiting on a part for that satanic machine so they could not check my spinal cord, but tonight it’s on.  And I don’t have any happy pills to take. So I am going into this one praying that it doesn’t take too long and I will be on my way home by 7:30pm.

But wouldn’t you know it?  The thunderstorms are supposed hit around 7pm/8pm as well.  I am imagining my rep in the MRI and the power goes out and they cannot pull me out.  That is not going to happen, but if it does, you will here me scream bloody murder.  Four letter words will sing from my lips like a robin in the spring.  I’ll even make up new ones.  So stay tuned.

Anyhoozle, how was your day?

Whatever, your day holds and whatever your plans may be, I wish you all a SPECTACULAR  day.  Do everything today with kindness in your heart.  The world is full of kind people.  If you can’t find one, be one!

My Life with Multiple Sclerosis 061223

Helloooooooooooooooooooooooooo, Possuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuums!
Today is Monday, June 12, 2023. It’s going to be a partly sunny day in Dallas with a high of 85.
Happy Belated Birthday to:
Happy Birthday to:
Good Afternoon, Possums, from the Celebrity Suites of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
It was nice and humid here in Dallas and last night, we had a pretty powerful storm roll through the Metroplex. I haven’t seen a great deal of damage around the neighborhood, but it sure was noisy. Other than the power going out for around ten seconds, I rather enjoyed.
Today, I have been hitting the internet, applying for what few jobs I haven’t already applied for, I have been checking off my boxes for another endeavor to be revealed later. Let’s just say, or ask, why does everything require a mountain of paperwork, 500 signatures, a Notary an MRI (just kidding) and a colonoscopy (also kidding, sort of)?
I would think that:
8 hospital stays
5 trips to the emergency room
13 rounds of high octane steroids
156 rounds of plasma exchange
4 rounds of chemotherapy
11 MRI’s
42 hours of physical therapy
4 hours of occupational therapy
6 rounds of Botox (in my legs)
in the last three years is enough to inform you that I am NOT in the best shape of my life! But I digress…
I know it’s the middle of June, but are you ready? Have you seen the advertisements for Hallmark’s annual CHRISTMAS IN JULY. Although this year, it’s not in July, it’s not a month long, it’s not called ‘Christmas in July and it’s in June.
It’s called, ‘Merry Movie Week’ and it begins June 24. I only worry, Possums, that they might have taken away one of the means of torturing my besties with texts ands reminders of what Lacey Chabert or Lindy Booth holiday extravaganza is on that evening and which recycled plot that are using. I’ll just have to find another to bring joy into their lives.
OK - enough of that. Time to get to busy again. Bureaucracy waits for no one (because it’s already a mountain of red tape).
Anyhoozle, what are your plans today?
Whatever, your day holds and whatever your plans may be, I wish you all a SPECTACULAR day. Do everything today with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one!

My Life with Multiple 060723

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo,
Possuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuums!

Coming to you from the Celebrity Suites of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas. Today is Thursday, May 18. It’s going to be a sunny day in Dallas with a high of around 82 degrees.

HappyBelated Birthday to:

Brent Robinson
Dave Swenson
Allison K. Mull
Kyla Millette
Richard Neal
Richard Buchanan

No birthdays on my calendar today.

Good Morning, Possums and Happy Hump Day! We are half way through the week. The last week has been very busy.

I had two-thirds of my MRI las week. It was awful. I hated every minute of it. But it’s over - moving on. I have the final third next week. Apparently a part is missing or needs replacing in order to image my spinal cord. My brain and neck were done last week. Those results came back and best I can tell is there is still nothing in my brain and my neck is still successfully holding up my head.

I got my botox (in my legs, people, in my legs) yesterday and fret you not. These gams are back to looking like a young, vibrant Juliette Prowse. LOL. And speaking of Botox, I went to a fundraiser last Friday night (don’t worry, this comes back around to Botox) where the main performer was Ms. Debbie Gibson (not yet). Part of the fundraiser was a silent auction. I won two things I bid on; a $200 gift to a Designer frames store and $500 of Botox (I know it took a hot minute, but…;.back to Botox as promised). I didn’t’t bid anywhere near $500 for it either. And I am surprised given the caliber of people that were there. I know many say they are laugh lines around their eyes, but there was nothing funny about them. I kid. I jest.

Yesterday, I had an evaluation for a new wheelchair. I am getting a new one paid for by my insurance. YAY!

Only one more medical thing to do this week and that it PLASMA EXCHANGE open Thursday.

Anyhoozle, what are your plans today?

Whatever your day holds and whatever your plans may be, I wish you all a SPECTACULAR day. Do everything today with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one!

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo,
Possuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuums!

Coming to you from the Celebrity Suites of the Wyndemere Condominiums on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas. Today is Thursday, June 1. It’s going to be a partly sunny day in Dallas with a high of around 88 degrees.

Happy Belated Birthday to:

Eugenia Matthews
Jay Box
Nancy Faulkenberry
Deborah Harrison Upton
Melissa Lonneman Arrambide
Warren France
Steve Steiner

Sami Mikhail

No Birthdays on my calendar today.

Good Morning, Possums and Happy Friday Eve. Your weekend is almost here. YAY

I haven't posted in a week because I - have been a bit busy with job searching and interviewing and whatnot - not anything I really want. I don't want to waste anyone's time, but it's been a while since I had to interview for anything so there's that.

I have also been exploring different mediums I may use to post my daily message. Video is out because I'm typically snarky and snippy in the morning. Voice recording is out because I'm typically snarky and snippy in the morning. So that leaves smoke signal (not in the morning), carrier pigeon (I hate birds plus bird poop - eeewwwww) and podcast (alone or with co-hosts)...stay tuned.

So today, I have part 1 of my MRI. They had to break it into two parts because the Machine needs a new part (that's comforting). At least it will not be two and a half hours but I still have my happy pills to take.

Tomorrow I have my plasma exchange - FINALLY. I have needed it for a few weeks now (insurance and all) but I will get it tomorrow. YAY!

Anyhoozle, that's about it for me today. What are your plans today / this weekend?

Whatever your day holds and whatever your plans may be, I wish you all a SPECTACULAR day. Do everything today with kindness in your heart. The world is full of kind people. If you can’t find one, be one!

To all of my fellow MS Warriors, keep fighting the good fight. And to all MS Warrior Supporters, Thank You! Your support means everything.
